Chairperson of the African Union Commission reveals preliminary meeting for a national reconciliation conference will be inclusive of all Libyans

Tripoli-The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, revealed that talks were underway to hold a preliminary meeting for a national reconciliation conference that includes all Libyans.

in press statements Faki said “there is positive response from various parties, and that they were communicating with all Libyan parties to talk about national reconciliation, because it may open the door to a political solution in Libya.

Faki added that they prefer to hold the meeting in Libya, noting that the Congolese Foreign Minister visited Libya, and a high-level African committee made a great effort.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission stressed the need to find a formula that allows Libyans to reconcile and go to elections to choose who runs things in Libya, noting that Libyans today listen to the African Union, and that there is a new push for a political process in Libya that includes several stages.
