Former Radio and TV CEO: Bahraini talent enriched national media progress

Ambassador Khalil Ibrahim Al Thawadi, Assistant Secretary General, Head of Arab Affairs Sector and National Security Sector at the Arab League former CEO of Bahrain Radio and Television, has affirmed that the media achievements in Bahrain reflected the visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which provided a spaced of freedom and creativity that contributed to the comprehensive development in the Kingdom.

Ambassador Al Thawadi expressed his gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for visiting the Ministry of Information and inaugurating the new main studio of the News Centre and the private radio studios building, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of television broadcasting in Bahrain. The visit reaffirmed the keenness of the government, led by HRH, to further advance the media sector with the latest modern technologies.

He said that HRH’s unlimited support for the media sector in Bahrain is a source of pride and a great motivation to continue hard work and dedication to contribute to the advancement of the national media.

Ambassador Al Thawadi added that the celebration of the golden jubilee of television broadcasting was a landmark occasion, underlining the importance of credibility and responsibility of the national media, which should be able to influence and keep pace of advancements in the media industry.

He noted that media work requires ongoing efforts to excel and that competitiveness in this field fosters innovation and creativity, urging the younger generations in radio, television and in various media outlets in Bahrain to adhere to professional ethics, and to constantly work to develop themselves on cultural, educational and professional levels.

Education Ministry condemns presence of American soldiers in Hadramout’s schools

Education Ministry condemned American soldiers presence in a number of schools in Hadramaut province last Tuesday, coinciding with the visit of the American ambassador to the province.

The Ministry of Education confirmed, in a statement, of which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received a copy, the danger of the American presence in the southern provinces, reflecting the reality of the colonizer ,his intentions to violate sanctities ,terrorize children, and that is what appeared only and what was hidden was greater.

The statement said, “The presence of American soldiers in those educational institutions reflects the state of humiliation reached by the tools of aggression from mercenaries ,agents, and their inability to protect the Yemeni people, even the students in their schools.”

Education Ministry called on the free and honorable people of the occupied provinces and the people of Hadramaut province in particular to confront and resist the aggression and its mercenaries by all means and not to submit to it until victory is achieved.

King Saud University Provides 12-Bed Simulation Room for Robotic Surgery Training at ESAL

The Experimental Surgery and Animal Laboratory (ESAL), established in 1987 at the College of Medicine at King Saud University in Riyadh, provides medical research and training programs for various clinical and animal studies. It also provides experimental animals and logistics support to the institution’s researchers, with the aim of building a solid culture of research using national and international resources.

ESAL is one of the most prominent centers in its field due to its 12-bed surgical simulation room, the largest of its kind in the Middle East, equipped with various tools, such as surgical robots, microsurgical microscopes and laparoscopy devices, all used for training to perform various surgeries.

ESAL has rooms housing animals, for raising and maintaining pure-strain experimental animals brought from international laboratories, an experimental operating suite equipped with the materials and tools needed to carry out most types of scientific research involving animal surgery, an isolation room for animals with a system that maintains proper temperature and humidity levels, and a reverse-isolation room for animals with immune deficiency that requires periodical sterilization.

ESAL also provides a 10-bed operating theater with medical devices and a large area suitable for holding workshops, as well as administrative and technical staff to help researchers conduct workshops.

ESAL aims to provide administrative, scientific and logistic support to researchers at KSU Medical City and the Faculty of Medicine, as well as to those interested in experimental animal research. The center also has as goals equipping researchers with the tools, materials, and devices that help them carry out successful training programs and workshops, and disseminate scientific animal research inside and outside ESAL.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Head of ESAL Dr. Motaz AlAqeel said that the research and experiments carried out by the center are of great significance, both nationally and internationally, stressing that ESAL members seek to be the best in the field of experimental surgery and animal research, helped by the presence of a proper environment where researchers can carry out scientific researches and train in workshops.

Qatar University Announces Opening of Admissions for 31 Graduate Programs for the Spring 2024 Semester

Qatar University (QU)’s Admissions Office has officially declared the commencement of the application process for its prestigious array of graduate programs for the Spring 2024 semester.

Prospective students can submit their applications starting from Sunday, 27 August 2023, until 5 October 2023. This exciting opportunity is exclusively available for students who meet the academic qualifications and prerequisites set forth by the University for each Program.

In a press statement on Saturday, the Admissions Office outlined that a diverse selection of 31 academic programs will be open for enrollment in the Spring 2024 semester. These programs encompass a range of disciplines, including doctoral and master’s programs in the College of Engineering as well as doctoral, master’s, and certificate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences. Additionally, the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies is offering a Masters program in Quran and Sunnah, specializing in the science of Hadith and its interpretation.

The statement urged aspiring graduate students to explore the available specialization information and admission requirements for these programs through the official Graduate Admissions website.

The Admissions Office emphasizes that acceptance into QU’s graduate programs is competitive, and prospective students must ensure that they satisfy all program-specific admission criteria.

The statement pointed out that the deadline for submitting all required official documents for graduate programs is 21 December 2023, stressing that applications submitted beyond this date will not be considered.

Notification of admission decisions will be disseminated by 28 December 2023, it added.

The commencement of classes for the Spring 2024 semester is set for January 21, 2024.

UDST President to QNA: 7 Thousand Students 25 Percent of Them are Qataris

Doha University of Science and Technology (UDST) has geared up to welcome more than 7,000 students (males and females) at the start of a new academic year, including over 1,700 freshmen.

UDST President Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, pointed out this that the new students are the largest batch ever received by the university.

In remarks to QNA, Dr. Al Naemi said that the university has over 7,300 male and female students, 25 percent whom are Qataris, which tells that the university has become attractive, as it offers qualitative majors that meet the requirements of the local and global labor market as well as the desires of students.

Doha University for Science and Technology, which was established by Emiri Resolution No. 13 of 2022, is the first national university to offer applied academic, technical and vocational education in the State of Qatar, and provides more than 60 applied programs that include master’s, bachelor’s, diploma and certificate qualifications, he said.

Dr. Al Naemi said that all the freshmen and old students, will enroll in five colleges that offer educational programs in the fields of business, computing and information technology, engineering and technology, health sciences and general education. These majors were provided according to the capacity of the university, which in turn is reflected in the total number of students and the quality of these majors themselves, he pointed.

DUST is the only university in the State of Qatar that offers the “midwifery” major, which is highly sought after by girls, he said explaining that the program was designed in response to a national need to locally develop this specialty and graduate midwives who contribute to achieving the national health strategy that prioritizes women’s health.

Dr. Al Naemi noted that the ‘Midwifery’ program was launched in accordance with the International Federation of Midwives (IFM’s) education standards , which develop the skills and knowledge of midwives and prepare them to provide professional care and support for pregnant women, newborn babies and their families. Over 6 Million Students to Commence New Academic Year Today

Over 6 million students from general education, as well as 1,360,000 students from higher education, and technical and vocational training, will commence the new academic year today (Sunday) across the regions and governorates of the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Education has initiated its preparations for the school year, collaborating seamlessly with educational authorities based on a strategic plan.

The objective is to adequately get the schools ready, providing them with the necessary resources and enhancing their readiness to receive students.

The plan also emphasizes the role of parents and families in motivating their children and ensuring their participation to achieve students’ educational goals.
