Al-Manqoush meets with US State Department delegation

Tripoli- Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Manqoush, met, Tuesday in the capital, Tripoli, the delegation of the US State Department headed by the Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, John Bass and the US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland and the Assistant Minister of Diplomatic Security Gentry Smith.

During this meeting, the American delegation handed the Secretary of State a message from her American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, related to strengthening and expanding relations between the two friendly countries. The meeting focused on reopening the US embassy to begin its work from the capital, Tripoli. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation valued this positive step, which she said was the result of the joint efforts between the two sides in facilitating the movement of citizens in both countries, stressing the ministry’s full readiness to provide all support to the American delegation in order to succeed in its mission.

For its part, the American delegation congratulated the Minister for awarding her the International Women of Courage Award for 2022, stressing the United States’ support for the political track in Libya and the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
