Al-Lafi discusses with the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya ways to advance the political process

Tunis-MP Abdullah Al-Lafi discussed on Wednesday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Leslie Ordman, ways to advance the political process in Libya, and elections according to a constitutional basis agreed upon by all parties, as well as the importance of the national reconciliation project to achieve peace and stability in the country. During the meeting, Al-Lafi stressed that the Presidential Council is seeking to create consensus between all political parties in Libya, and supports the meetings of the Military Committee ,5+5 to move forward with new steps for the national reconciliation project, after the important successes achieved in previous forums, in order to have a correct constitutional base based on a comprehensive consensus leading to the elections that the people aspire to.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy praised the efforts of the Presidential Council in its attempts to reach consensus between all political parties, praising the Council’s efforts in the national reconciliation project, which is considered a major challenge to the beginning of a real election project that achieves stability in the country, according to the Presidential Council on its Facebook page.
