Al Dabaiba meets mayors of municipalities in the western, southern and central regions

Tripoli-The Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba held an extended meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli this afternoon with a number of mayors from of the municipalities in western, southern and central regions.

The municipalities included Al Zawiya Central, Yefren, Ajilat, Sabratha, Zuwara, Gemayel, Al Manshieh, Wazen, Qala, Al-Shashaiya, Ameriya, Zahra, Jadu, Nalut, Maslata, Tarhuna, Qur’an Bolly, Al-Rahebat, Al-Arabat, Assila, Zalton, Al-Hawamed, Haraba, Al-Aweynat, Al Qaryat, Sinoun, Qasr al-Akhyar, Al-Glaida, Hai Al-Andalus, Al-Awata, Al-Sayeh, Harawah, Ras Al-Tabal, Al Zawya South, Al Khoms, Teninay, and Al Maya.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Local Government Badreddine Toumi, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Local Development and Municipal Affairs, and a number of technical departments of the Ministry.

According to the Cabinet Communication Office the meeting was devoted to discussing a number of service files and steps taken by the Ministry of Local Government on transfer of competences and the activation of local administration.

The Prime Minister addressed the mayors on the political situation and the actions taken by the Government of National Unity, the most important of which the appointment of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, which was done in order to correct the legal conditions of the institution, to open oil and gas installations, pointing out that the change of the board of directors of the NOC was not a political deal or in coordination with a particular country, as some political parties tried to promote with the aim of confusing the Libyan situation that has stabilized during the past period.

For their part, the mayors stressed elections are a goal of the Libyan people, expressing their rejection of any stages of transition and the establishment of parallel governments in order to confuse the scene.
