(Al-Dabaiba) issues his instructions to publish government expenditures for the year 2022 on media platforms

Tripoli, January 4, 2023 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, instructed the ministers in the government and the heads and directors of bodies, interests, agencies, institutions, and centers affiliated to the ministries and the Council of Ministers, to present the 2022 expenditures on their media platforms.

Minister of State for Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Affairs, Adel Jumaa, stated in a letter addressed to those authorities that this step comes in accordance with the principle of transparency and comprehensive disclosure of government expenditures, which was discussed in the first meeting of the Council of Ministers held last Monday, corresponding to January 2.

Today, Wednesday, the Central Bank of Libya published its monthly statement of public revenue and expenditure, which covers the period from 01/01/2022 to 12/31/2022, dealing with revenue and expenditure for all sectors and their affiliates, which number 947, indicating that the total expenditure amounted to 127.9 billion dinars in the year 2022, while total revenues amounted to 134.4 billion dinars.

According to the statement, the expenditures of the House of Representatives exceeded one billion dinars, while the expenditures of the Council of Ministers of the National Unity Government approached two billion dinars, the State Council about half a billion, and the Presidential Council more than 775 million dinars.
