Tripoli- Head of Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dabiba, held Speakers of the House of Representatives and the state, Aqila Saleh and Khaled al-Mashri, responsible for the failure of the December 24, 2021 elections, and for depriving Libyans of their electoral right.
Al-Dabaiba said in the first meeting of his government in 2023, a year has passed and a new year has come, and disappointments are still haunting the Libyans because of the presidents of the House of Representatives and the state evading their responsibilities, and depriving two million and eight thousand voters of their electoral right on December 24, 2021, and that his government’s position towards the elections is firm and unwavering, and that the so-called force majeure is nothing but intimidation of the Libyans, and we remind once again those who are preoccupied with the extension and power-sharing of their historical responsibilities.
He pointed out that the government of national unity and the National Elections Commission are fully prepared to implement the national elections, and that the year 2023 is the year of elections and the year of unifying civil institutions, sectors and organizations, and supporting national personalities whose demand and goal is to achieve the elections and make them successful.
Al-Dabaiba added, that the development train continues despite all attempts to drown us in the the political conflict and stop us from serving the Libyans.
He explained that the allocations for 2022 covered all development projects in roads, transportation and infrastructure, and (1500) megawatts were added to the public electrical network with the implementation of many major overhauls of electrical stations in several regions, as well as the completion of maintenance of more than (20) hospitals in more than one region. , and (285) schools that were out of work for more than (20) years ago, and we will not accept the deteriorating conditions of the sewage network in Ajdabiya, Abu Salim, Sabha, and others, and it will be repaired after decades of neglect and corruption.
According to Al-Dabaiba, one of his government’s priorities is to allocate new sums of money to municipalities to implement urgent development projects related to basic services, agricultural and subsidiary roads.
Al-Dabaiba reviewed what his government has accomplished, saying that last year witnessed the settlement of the salaries of more than one million and six hundred thousand employees according to the unified salary scale, and the release of the salaries of about “87 thousand employees.” The Ministry of Finance will also launch a wide update of the public data system, enabling the citizen to follow up on issues related to financially in an organized manner, away from bureaucracy.
With regard to the new year 2023, Al-Dabaiba said that it will witness firm follow-up of government procurement and the obligation of its affiliates and ministries to publish their needs and expenses regarding contracting procedures with the public and private sectors through the government procurement platform, calling on the public and private sectors to follow up on the government procurement platform and actively participate in the tenders announced by During it and the commitment to follow it up in confirmation of the principle of disclosure and transparency.
The prime minister praised the role of the Ministry of Local Government and what it did during the past year in strengthening the role of municipalities in performing their tasks and activating local administration.
Our international partners have praised our success in achieving local administration for municipalities, and we will allocate a new billion to support all municipalities in achieving development programs according to a comprehensive plan, considering raising the efficiency of workers in the plan.
Al-Dabaiba concluded his speech at the cabinet meeting by emphasizing the sanctity of Libyan blood and the unity of Libyan soil is the goal and goal, and the blood of the Libyans will not be fuel for war, but rather for development, construction and achievement, and that the time has come to hand over the historical responsibility entrusted to us.
