Iranian, British Foreign Ministers Discuss Ways to Contain Regional Escalation

Tehran, April 11 – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and British Foreign Secretary David Cameron discussed ways to contain the escalation in the region and the developments of the war in Gaza, in a phone call on Thursday.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the need for an immediate stop to the crimes of genocide and war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank as the only effective way to bring peace back to the region.

He pointed out that the shelling of the consulate headquarters in Damascus encourages the Israeli entity to continue to ignite the fires of war and expand its scope.

For his part, the British Foreign Secretary called on Iran to exercise restraint and expressed his concern about the continued tension in the Red Sea.

China’s Queqiao-2 Satellite Completes In-orbit Communication Tests

Beijing: The Queqiao-2 satellite has completed in-orbit communication tests, with its platform and payloads working normally, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA) on Friday.

The functions and performance of Queqiao-2 meet mission requirements, and it can provide relay communication services for the fourth phase of China’s lunar exploration project and future lunar exploration missions of China and other countries, said the CNSA, announcing the Queqiao-2 mission a complete success.

The satellite successfully completed a communication test on April 6 with Chang’e-4, which is now carrying out an exploration mission on the far side of the moon. From April 8 to 9, it conducted communication tests with the Chang’e-6 probe, which is yet to be launched.

Queqiao-2 was launched on March 20 and entered its target highly elliptical orbit on April 2 after midway correction, near-moon braking and orbital maneuver around the moon.

This effort is part of the presidency’s strategy to prepare the devotional atmospheres for visitors of the Two Holy Mosques during Eid Al-Fitr, with Friday being its third day.

President of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, has directed religious leaders to enhance visitors’ experience during the Friday prayer.

Riyadh: Amidst an atmosphere of joy and happiness, Eid Al-Fitr delight was painted on the faces of the participants and attendees in the capital’s celebrations prepared by the Riyadh Municipality to share this happy occasion with the community.

Throughout the capital, events and activities were distributed in 13 parks and gardens to fulfil the Riyadh Municipality’s strategy of building a sustainable partnership with community members and participating in efforts to improve the quality of life in the city.

The activities included folkloric performances, holiday nights sparkling with decorations and lighting, children’s experiences, and carnival games.

KSrelief Distributes Over 700 Food Baskets in Sudan

Red Sea State, The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday distributed 724 food baskets to displaced and needy families in Port Sudan, Red Sea State, benefiting 3,760 individuals, as part of a project to support food security in Republic of the Sudan.

The effort comes within the relief and humanitarian projects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides through the center to many needy and affected countries and peoples.

Jordan, US Foreign Ministers Emphasize Necessity of Entry of Aid to Gaza

Amman, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, during a phone call on Friday with his US counterpart Antony Blinken, discussed efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and the entry of sufficient aid to the Strip, in addition to other topics of mutual interest.

Safadi, during the call, Safadi emphasized the necessity of opening all borders for the admission of supplies to address the humanitarian crisis brought on by the conflict, highlighting the necessity of ending Israel’s assault on Gaza, and warning about the disastrous outcomes of an Israeli ground offensive against Rafah.

The two sides also emphasized the importance of removing all barriers to the adequate and timely flow of aid into Gaza.
