HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated by the CEO of LMRA

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received a cable of congratulations from the Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, HE Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer, on the occasion of Bahrain maintaining a Tier 1 Status in the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report for the sixth consecutive year.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to achieve and maintain the tier 1 status for six consecutive years, a feat and achievement in line with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HE Jamsheer emphasised that the Tier 1 Status, the highest annual international rating in this field, is a successful achievement made possible thanks to the visions and support of His Majesty the King, as well as the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

HE Jamsheer noted Team Bahrain’s role in furthering the Kingdom’s wide-ranging legislation, based on sustainable mechanisms and procedures that safeguard human rights.

The CEO of LMRA highlighted the Authority’s commitment to further strengthen the Kingdom’s labour market, and ensure procedures continue to support efforts in combatting trafficking in persons.

HM King congratulated by LMRA’s CEO on Tier-1 status

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received a cable of congratulations from the Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), and Chairperson of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons, Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer.

Jamsheer extended her sincere congratulations to HM the King on the kingdom’s success in retaining its Tier-1 status in the US Department of State’s 2023 Trafficking in Persons (TiP) Report for the sixth consecutive year.

She affirmed that the milestone confirms the sound vision of HM King Hamad on protecting human rights and establishing social justice.

She extended deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King for appointing her as Chairperson of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons, pledging to spare no effort in implementing the royal directives.

She wished HM the King abundant health and long life so as to continue enhancing the kingdom’s progress.

Bahrain global role model for combating trafficking in persons: Labour Minister

Labour Minister and Board of Directors Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has lauded the renewal of international confidence in the kingdom’s great and sustainable efforts in the field of human rights and combating trafficking in persons by achieving the “Tier 1” status for the sixth consecutive year in the United States Department of State’s 2023 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report, which is the highest annual international classification in this field.

On the occasion, the minister extended his deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the exploit, affirming that the Kingdom’s success in retaining this international status for the sixth year in a row is the outcome of the royal directives to give priority to human rights and peaceful coexistence, which are deeply rooted in Bahrain’s social, moral and civilised culture, in all national policies and legislation.

Minister Humaidan commended the efforts made by all government agencies and institutions for their keenness to work diligently and in an integrated institutional system that reflects the civilised image of the kingdom’s systems, legislation and work ethics, based on prevention, protection and fairness, praising the great role played by all partners involved in the issue of human trafficking.

He praised the supervision and follow-up of the Minister of Interior, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, on the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to provide protection and security, as well as back efforts to combat human trafficking, through responding rapidly to the reports it receives, and taking actions thereon.

He paid tribute to Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, for following up on the human rights issue in Bahrain and at the level of the Kingdom’s embassies abroad.

He expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, Endowments, the Public Prosecution, LMRA, the Ministry of Labour as well as the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons for their commendable efforts in this regard, stressing that this partnership and cooperation reaffirms the success of Team Bahrain, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in ensuring the sustainability of the national achievements.

The Labour Minister indicated that the ongoing cooperation among these agencies has a great impact on achieving the best practices that enabled the Kingdom to maintain the Tier 1 status and retain its international reputation in combating this cross-border crime, contributing to making Bahrain a global role model in this field, and earring the acclaim of specialised international organisations.
