KSrelief Continues Providing Healthcare Services to Syrian Refugees, Host Community in Lebanon’s Akkar

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is continuing its project to improve healthcare services for Syrian refugees and the host community in the town of Bebnine in Lebanon’s Akkar governorate.

During March, the Akkar Healthcare Center received 1,776 patients and provided 3,735 services through various departments including clinics, pharmacy, laboratory, nursing, and community and psychological health programs.

The percentage of males treated was 37% and females 63%. This assistance is part of the Kingdom’s commitment, represented by KSrelief, to provide humanitarian aid to the needy Lebanese and Syrian refugee communities in all areas to alleviate their suffering during the current humanitarian crisis.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Congratulates Cuban President on Reelection

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a cable of congratulation to President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez of the Republic of Cuba on the occasion of his reelection for a second term.

In his cable, the King expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes of success for the president and progress and prosperity for the government and people of Cuba.

Iraqi Soldier Killed by ISIS Northern Iraq

ISIS group shot an Iraqi soldier after having kidnapped him near Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq.

A security source said that the incident took place today with the body found near the Great Zab River in northern Iraq.

The source added that ISIS members kidnapped Thursday two people: a fisherman and a soldier, pointing out that the organization later released the fisherman, whereas it executed the soldier.

For its part, the Nineveh Operations Command announced the arrest of 3 ISIS members in Al Baaj district, west of Mosul, northern Iraq, who are being interrogated by authorities.

Qatar, Police Teams Qualify for Semi-finals of Amir Volleyball Cup

Qatar and Police teams qualified for the semi-finals of the Amir Volleyball Cup for the 2022-2023 season. Qatar defeated Al Ahli and Police beat Al Gharafa in their matches held today at the Aspire ladies gym where all the matches of the tournament, which will end on May 6, are held.

In the first match, Qatar made a 25-23, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19 victory over Al Ahli, while Police produced a 25-23, 25-19, 25-18 win over Al Gharafa in the second match.

French envoy to Libya confirms that his country will play a positive role in the stability of Libya.

The French envoy to Libya, “Paul Soler”, affirmed that his country will play a positive role in stabilizing Libya, reaching an agreement and a political solution, in order to achieve parliamentary and presidential elections based on a consensual constitutional framework.

This came during a meeting with the Libyan ambassador to France, Khaled Kajiji, with the French envoy, according to the Libyan embassy in Paris, on its Facebook page.

During the meeting, according to the same source, they discussed developments in the political process in Libya, in addition to ways to strengthen cooperation relations between the two countries.

The French website “Africa Intelligence” revealed French preparations to hold a Libyan security meeting that brings together security leaders from the east and west of the country.

The site said that the preparations for the security meeting are being supervised by the French President’s advisor on Libya, “Paul Soler”, as Paris wants to benefit from the progress made recently and the meetings of military leaders that took place in the past period in Tunisia, Benghazi and Tripoli, and the agreement to establish a joint force from east and west.

The site indicated that the meeting will be held in Paris in the presence of the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, and the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, which includes the President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad al-Mnifi, and his two deputies, Abdullah al-Lafi and Musa al-Koni, and the Chiefs of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Muhammad al-Haddad and Abdul Razaq al-Nazuri, as well as members of the Joint Military Committee. 5+5.

The site continued that the joint force proposed to be established; is under discussion, and that this force aims to provide stability before the elections to be held before the end of this year, pointing out that the goal of the United Nations through the establishment of the force is the departure of foreign forces, and the fight against smuggling across the southern borders of the country.

Africa Intelligence website also stated, that the joint force will be deployed first in the southwestern region, in which armed groups and smuggling are spread, explaining the possibility that the joint military force will receive external training to carry out these tasks.
