Al-Sunni is following the preparations of the United Nations in New York to support the upcoming elections.

The representative of Libya, Ambassador “Taher Al-Sunni”, met at the headquarters of the permanent Libyan mission to the United Nations in New York, the team of the United Nations Election Support Department and the United Nations Department of Political Affairs and Peacekeeping, within the framework of the Libyan mission’s follow-up to the United Nations’ preparations to support the upcoming elections.

It also comes in response to the national unity government’s request to send the UN team to assess needs and the Security Council’s recent support for this request.

The mission stated that the UN team provided an overview of their work and preparations to send the needs assessment team to Libya during the coming period, where the discussion took place on technical and logistical matters and ways to secure the elections in cooperation with the High Elections Commission and the concerned Libyan state institutions.

The team also reviewed similar experiences in several other countries that can be used for the success of the electoral process in Libya, which is to be held at the end of the year.

For his part, Al-Sunni stressed the importance of the role of the United Nations and international and regional organizations in supporting the general elections in the country. Joint coordination with regional and international organizations, and taking all possible technical and modern preparations to support voter registration mechanisms, polling centers, monitoring and vote counting, in order to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process whose results are accepted by all.

The “Sunni” representative also presented a summary of the most important activities of the government, the relevant committees and institutions, and voter awareness programs, all of which aim to support the electoral process and make it a success.

CBB to patronise 4th annual Islamic Finance Innovation Day

The Annual Islamic Finance Innovation Day (IFID), founded and organized by FinMark Communications, announced that its fourth annual edition, set to take place on 30 May at the Gulf Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will be held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).

Interactive sessions, that have been designed by the Forum’s Advisory Committee of industry experts, will encourage knowledge sharing and exchange on how institutions and businesses in the industry can leverage the principles of ESG and the power of financial technology to accelerate further industry advancement, drive innovation and achieve long-term sustainable growth. The Advisory committee is headed by Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, CEO of BisB, along with participation from senior representatives from the Central Bank of Bahrain, RFI Foundation, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, Al Baraka Group, Aion Digital and Bahrain Chamber.

The Forum will comprise of a keynote address and fireside chat with industry leaders as well as two panel sessions, “Going Beyond Compliance – ESG as a Driver for Innovation and Sustainable Growth” and “The Essential Role of Fintechs in Accelerating ESG Adoption”.

BRCS hosts Ramadan Ghabga

Under the patronage of Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), the Society hosted its annual Ramadan Ghabga. The event was graced by the presence of the Chairman and distinguished members of the Board of Directors, executive management, esteemed members of the society, and dedicated volunteers. The Ramadan Ghabga was held at the Society’s headquarters in the Diplomatic Area.

Jordan’s Foreign Minister stresses depth of Jordanian-Saudi relations

Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, has affirmed the depth of the long-standing solid between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Al-Safadi made the statements while meeting Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of the Arab consultative meeting, held here yesterday.

The two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and joint Arab action.

Government Hospitals holds Ramadan meeting with on-scholarship doctors

The Government Hospitals held the annual Ramadan meeting with doctors who are on scholarship abroad to complete their advanced fellowships.

Addressing the 29 doctors virtually, the CEO of Government Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ansari, affirmed keenness to continue implementing the insightful vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on empowering and supporting national competencies, praising the constant care of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He indicated that Bahrain is on the right track towards consolidating its status as a provider of advanced health services in the region thanks to its highly qualified competencies and the support of the state for the health sector.

He highlighted the keenness of Government Hospitals to support on-scholarship doctors to enhance the kingdom’s global status.

He affirmed that on-scholarship doctors are the best ambassadors of their countries at host countries, as they show distinguished experience, competence and commitment.

He expressed thanks to all doctors who are on scholarship abroad for the tremendous efforts they are making to develop their capabilities so as to better serve the kingdom and its people, by playing their role in improving the level of health services.
