First Libyan Women Leaders Forum launched under the slogan (Rights – Participation – Leadership)

Tripoli- Under the slogan (Rights – Participation – Leadership), the activities of the first Libyan Women Leaders Constituent Forum was launched at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli on Thursday in the presence of Minister of Social Affairs Wafa Al-Kilani and a number of women members of the House of Representatives and ministers of the Government of National Unity and women’s social activists.

Speaking at the event, Al-Kilani praised the efforts of those in charge of this forum, stressing the importance of the participation of women without exclusion or marginalization from all regions of Libya, women of determination, Libyan women married to foreigners, displaced women, who came to take part of this function.

The President of the Presidential Council receives a written message from the French President

Tripoli- The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, received today, Thursday, the French Special Envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Libya, Beatrice Lefraber Duhelen.

The French special envoy to Libya handed over to the President of the Presidential Council a written message from French President “Manuel Macron”.

The envoy expressed his and the French people’s aspiration for more cooperation at all levels to consolidate relations between the two friendly countries, noting that the French President hopes to meet with the President of the Presidential Council, during the high-level meetings of the upcoming 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Representative of the Presidential Council (Moussa Al-Koni) receives the Italian ambassador to Libya

Tripoli- Representative of the Presidential Council, Moussa Al-Koni, met today, Thursday, the Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino, who conveyed the highest diplomatic expressions from his country’s government to the Presidential Council, and its relevant support for efforts to achieve stability in Libya.

The media office of the council said that the Italian ambassador talked about the level of qualitative cooperation that took place between the Italian civil protection team and their colleagues in Libya during the tragedy of the fuel tanker fire in the municipality of Bint Bayh. And who was able to urgently arrange for the injured to be transferred to burn treatment centers in Italy.

He added that coordination has been carried out between the Civil Protection Department and the Remote Operations Center, in cooperation with the Operational Command of the Joint Forces, the Ministry of Defense, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the diplomatic representations of the two countries, and the previous initial visit of the Italian team and their practical cooperation with their colleagues in Libya was behind this urgent integration. between the two parties, which we hope to achieve continuously by comparing the various prospects of joint cooperation.

The deputy thanked Italy for this humanitarian stand and for the haste to help the victims of the Bint Bayh explosion without delay according to a qualitative joint cooperation with the Libyan parties.

The meeting touched on the Berlin meeting on Libya, which will start this evening and until tomorrow, Friday, and which includes European, international and Arab parties to search for possible exits that would allow an end to the existing blockage in Libya. The meeting also dealt with the desired importance in this direction of the Rome Conference for Mediterranean Dialogues (Rome-Med), which will be held in the Italian capital next December. It is hoped that the Presidential Council will be a key party in its work this year.

During the meeting, Al-Koni stressed the Presidential Council’s commitment to the requirements of the stage and to meeting the aspirations of the Libyan people, by holding parliamentary and presidential elections, according to a consensual framework among all parties.

The representative also clarified in this regard his vision about the future development of the political situation in Libya, that to ensure stability in the country, there must be a trend towards adopting decentralization in governance, and the need to return to the governorate system that existed in the past. This is with all the advantages that will result from this option, in terms of security or economics, and the distribution of the budget to the various governorates, instead of being concentrated in the central capital. As this solution will dismantle several problems, and lift the pressure on the capital, which will be just a province like others, according to a limited budget for it. Then the central government will devote itself to its sovereign work
