Chief of General Staff discusses with British military attache joint cooperation and means of support

Tripoli- Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Al-Haddad, received in his office in the capital, Tripoli, Tuesday, the British Military Attaché to Libya, Navy Colonel Chris O’Flaherty, to review the relations of continuous cooperation between the two friendly countries.

At the outset of the meeting, Lieutenant-General Al-Haddad congratulated Colonel Chris O’Flaherty on assuming the duties of the British military attache to Libya, and thanked the United Kingdom for its international positions in support of Libya.

The meeting dealt with prospects for joint cooperation and enhancing means of support in the fields of training and support Military and security consultations between the two countries.

Presidential candidates denounce Tripoli clashes, hail Salouq’s statement, and stress completion of electoral process before year end

Tripoli- Candidates for the presidential elections denounced the clashes that took place in the near the city centre area of the capital, Tripoli, last Friday, and considered them an uncivilized and illegal phenomenon resulting from the absence of the state and the weakness of its institutions.

A statement signed by (25) presidential candidates, a copy of which was received by the Libyan News Agency, said: “We strongly condemn these uncivilized and illegal acts that led to terrorizing of citizens, and the security and stability of the capital as a result of the state of political statelmate, and the unjustified conflict that led to undermining the Libyans’ decision to self-determination in a peaceful and democratic way.

Presidential candidates also hailed the statement of the Forum of Social Components issued in the city of Saluk al-Mujahidah under the slogan (Libya brings us together), calling on all Libyan women and men, civil society institutions, sheikhs and free men of Libya, and various media outlets, to support the brave statement of Saluk , which they described as expressing the aspirations of all Libyans.

The presidential candidates stressed the need to complete the electoral process and hold the first round of presidential and parliamentary elections before the end of this year, and to terminate all bodies without exception, restriction or condition, as soon as possible, in implementation of the aspirations of the Libyan people.

The statement concluded by emphasizing the unity of the soil, the sanctity of Libyan blood, the status and prestige of the state, and the fight against all forms of extremism and violence.

AL-Menafi meets President of General Authority for Endowments and Islamic Affairs

Tripoli- President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed AL-Menafi, met at the Presidential Council’s Headquarters in Tripoli, the President of the General Authority for Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Omar Saad Al-Haddad, to discuss some of the problems facing the work of the authority.

During the meeting, the head of the authority reviewed the conditions of the endowment offices in the regions and the centers for memorizing the Holy Qur’an, and their needs to perform their role to the fullest, stressing the authority’s support for the national reconciliation efforts through which the Presidential Council seeks to bridge the rift between the parties of the same country, and bring the country to safety.

Pashagha to the Italian Envoy: government will protect stability of the country and hold presidential and parliamentary elections on set time

Benghazi-Prime Minister appointed by by the House of Representatives Fathi Pasha Agha ,reiterated that his government has begun its work from Sirte ,and will protect the unity and stability of the country, and will seek to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on the time set in the roadmap.

This came during a meeting Pashagha held in Benghazi on Monday with the Italian Special Envoy to Libya , Nicola Norlando, and the Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Buccino ,during which they discussed the latest political developments on the Libyan arena.

A statement posted on the government SMS page said the Italian envoy praised the Libyan government’s refusal to use force, and its assertion to use legal methods to carry out its tasks from all Libyan cities.

In the same context, the Italian Embassy published on its Twitter a picture of the meeting with Fathi Pashagha in Benghazi and said the two diplomats met yesterday afternoon in Benghazi with Fathi Pashagha without giving any other details about the meeting.

The deputy in the Presidential Council (Al-Lafi) meets with the Minister of Economy in the unity government

Tripoli- The Representative of the Presidential Council, “Abdullah Al-Lafi,” met this morning, Tuesday in Tripoli, with the Minister of Economy in the Government of National Unity, “Mohammed Al-Hawij” to follow up on the work of the ministry and its subsidiaries, and to learn about the problems facing the sector.

The Minister of Economy briefed the Vice Presidential on the mechanism of work of the ministry and its various components, and the measures that were taken during the last period in order to control prices, provide goods and protect citizens from speculation. The minister also provided a clarification on the file of developing economic projects in various cities and regions of the country.

During the meeting, Al-Lafi stressed the importance of strengthening efforts to improve the economic situation, calling for the speedy development of a strategy that contributes to the advancement of this important sector, and working to harness the full potential to serve the citizen and provide his needs at reasonable prices, and ease the burdens of daily life.

Ministers discuss issues related to movement across Ras Ajdir border crossing

Ras AjdirA high-level meeting was held at the Ras Ajdir port, Tuesday, that included ministers of the interior, Khaled Mazen and transportation, Muhammad Salem al-Shoubi, and the local government Badr Eddin Toumi with a number of officials in the Tunisian government, during which topics related to the movement of the crossing were discussed and problems facing movement between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed border bottlenecks at the Ras Ajdir port and solutions for them, in addition to a number of issues of concern to the two brotherly countries.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation for Land Transport, the mayor of Zuwara Municipality, the Head of the Internal Security Agency and the General Intelligence Service, the Head of the Passports and Nationality Authority, the Head of the Administrative Centers Development Authority, the Head of the Land Ports Management and Operation Center, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Head of Customs Authority, Head of the Ambulance Service, Director General of the Transportation Projects Implementation Agency, Assistant Director General of the Administrative Centers Development and Development Authority, and a number of Tunisian officials.
