In the presence of Al-Lafi: Final arrangements continue to complete the national reconciliation project

Tripoli-The Meetings of the National High Commission for National Reconciliation continued in Tripoli on Wednesday, to prepare the final drafting and the organizational structure of the Supreme National Commission for National Reconciliation, in the presence of member of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi.

The Council Communication Office said that these meetings, attended by representatives of the National Planning Council, the Center for Law Studies at the University of Benghazi, and a number of experts, jurists and specialists in this area will continue for more elaborate discussion and study of all the tracks of this national project, with the participation of a group of experts. The Presidential Council is seeking to complete the national reconciliation bill to pave the way for the stability of the country and to achieve the remaining national entitlements required by the current phase.

Williams hails governments of America, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Egypt and Turkey for their support to holding elections in Libya

Tunis- The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams, expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the governments of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Egypt and Turkey to hold elections in Libya, at the earliest opportunity.

This came during her meeting- prior to the start of the Security Working Group meeting- with senior officials of the governments of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Egypt and Turkey on the latest developments in Libya, according to a tweet by Williams.

Williams said in the tweet: ‘I expressed my gratitude to all of them for the support they provide to push for the organization of elections at the earliest possible opportunity on a solid basis and a consensual constitutional framework in order to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people in electing their representatives’.

Williams discusses latest developments of situation in Libya with representatives from America ,Europe ,Egypt ,and Turkey

Tunis 8 June 2022 (Lana) UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams, discussed with representatives of the governments of USA ,Britain ,France ,Italy ,Germany ,Egypt ,and Turkey, during a meeting held on Tuesday in Tunisia ,the latest developments of the situation in Libya ,according to a tweet published by Williams on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa region of the German Foreign Ministry, Tobias Tonke, said on a tweet “this meeting comes within the framework of supporting the mediation efforts by the UNSMIL and Advisor to the Secretary-General Stephanie Williams”.

Speaker of the parliament calls for an official session next Tuesday

Al-Qubaa – The Speaker of the House of Representatives Aqeela Saleh yesterday invited members of the Parliament to attend an official session that will be held on Tuesday June 14.

According to the official invitation which was published by the parliament’s spokesman Abdullah Beleiheq through Twitter ,the session will be held at the Parliament’s headquarters in Sirte.

Government assigned by Parliament announces the official start of its tasks from Sirte

Sirte-The government assigned by the House of Representatives announced yesterday ,Tuesday , the official start of its tasks from its headquarters in Sirte.

“We have a national duty towards the Libyan people ,and it’s not in the interests of our national project that we have adopted to postpone the government’s work ,therefore we decided to conduct our tasks from Sirte, the Head of the Government Fathi Pashagha said at a consultative meeting to discuss preparing a number of administrative headquarters ,and arrangements for holding the third meeting of the Council of Ministers next week in Sirte,

“The Government’s members and I will make sure to travel throughout the country ,in order to ensure direct liaison with citizens ,closely monitor the bottlenecks that the municipalities are suffering ,and to take all steps to consolidate the principle of decentralization”, He added.

President of the Presidential Council receives French president’s special envoy to Libya

Tripoli-President of Presidential Council Mohamed Al Mnefi on Wednesday morning received Paul Soler, French President Emmanuel Macron’s special envoy to Libya, along with French Ambassador to Libya Beatrice Du Helen. During the meeting, they discussed the latest political developments, ways to strengthen the relationship of cooperation and promote lasting stability in Libya. The French envoy briefed un envoy Stephanie Williams on the developments in Libya, the importance of supporting the electoral process and ensuring the success of the security and military tracks to create an economic environment that supports stability.

The President of the Presidential Council stressed the need to work to maintain stability in Libya, to enable the holding of parliamentary and presidential elections, in accordance with a constitutional framework agreed by all parties involved in the political process.
