Against the backdrop of Tripoli clashes: The Arab Parliament warns of new waves of violence in Libya and calls on all parties to exercise restraint

Tripoli- The Arab Parliament warned today of the danger of leaving the Libyan state prey to waves of violence between the conflicting parties.

This came in his statement issued against the backdrop of the armed clashes that took place in the capital, Tripoli, this morning, expressing concern about these developments, according to the text of the statement.

The parliament said in its statement that the new waves of violence in Libya will take the country towards a dangerous trend that will destroy all efforts made to restore stability and security to it.

He also called on the Libyan parties to exercise restraint, to rule the mind, and to give priority to the supreme national interest, in order to preserve the lives and capabilities of the Libyan people, and to get out of this critical stage with minimal losses.

The Arab Parliament affirmed its full support for everything that would contribute to the return of stability to the Libyan state and the return of the language of dialogue between its various parties, leading to the holding of legislative and presidential elections.

The statement stressed the importance of the meetings of the joint constitutional process committee between the House of Representatives and the state hosted by the Egyptian capital Cairo under the auspices of the United Nations to push forward towards strengthening security and stability in Libya and achieving the aspirations of its people for a decent life.

In its statement, the Arab Parliament stressed that Libya is going through a critical stage in its history, which requires everyone to stand united and agree on specific mechanisms and turn the pages of differences, as well as stop foreign interference, in preparation for Libya’s return to its position and its active role at the Arab, regional and international levels.

The President of the Presidential Council meets a number of dignitaries in the eastern region

Tobruk- The President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, met today, Tuesday, with a delegation of notables from the eastern region, which included Sheikh Idris Yahya Al-Barasi and Sheikh Masoud Omar Al-Arfi, to discuss the latest developments in the political situation in Libya.

During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Council stressed the need to hold elections as soon as possible, stressing that violence will lead to more division, and that the Council seeks to achieve the demands of all Libyans to hold simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections, which put the country on the right path, towards construction, security, and stability.

The notables affirmed the support of the Presidential Council in any steps it will take to unify efforts to bring our country to safety, affirming the Presidential Council’s support in the national reconciliation project, to achieve peace and stability.

Williams commends the progress made by the Constitutional Track Committee of the House of Representatives and the State Supreme Court

CAIRO- The Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, praised the progress made by the Constitutional Track Committee consisting of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of the State, which is holding its work in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

In her speech at the opening of the third day of the committee’s work, Williams said that the consultations witnessed the approval of a large number of articles of the Libyan draft constitution, calling for the need for the pace of work to proceed in this positive and constructive manner, to work in a high patriotic spirit, to raise the language of dialogue and negotiation and to make concessions in order to Libya and all Libyans.

Head of the National Unity Government meets with a number of mayors of municipalities

Tripoli- the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity “Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba” resigned this evening, Tuesday, at the Cabinet Office, a number of mayors of municipalities, in the presence of the Minister of Local Government, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government for Municipal Affairs, the head of the Municipal Guard, and a number of Directors of departments in the Ministry.

During the meeting, government projects to develop municipalities and implement development projects were followed up.

The Minister of Local Government confirmed that this meeting came without prior arrangement, but came after the unfortunate events that took place in the capital, Tripoli, at dawn today, Tuesday, to emphasize the desire of all municipalities for stability and peace, and the need to return the trust to the people through elections.

A number of mayors of municipalities also confirmed during this meeting their support for the national unity government and the holding of elections.

Security deployment of central support patrols in the capital Tripoli and its suburbs to impose security and arrest violators

Tripoli-The Ministry of Interior stated that a security deployment took place today, Tuesday, for the patrols of the General Administration of Central Support branch in Tripoli, under the direct supervision of the deputy head of the branch, Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud al-Qambri.

During this security deployment, intensive, fixed and mobile security posts were established inside the capital, Tripoli, and its suburbs, in order to publicize and impose security, arrest violators of the law, and maintain the security and safety of citizens.

Presidency of the General Staff: We affirm our commitment to the civil state and the peaceful transfer of power, through fair elections away from the use of weapons

Tripoli- The General Staff of the Libyan Army condemned the armed clashes that took place at dawn today, Tuesday, according to a statement published on its official website.

In its statement, the Chief of Staff announced its strong rejection of these clashes, which it said had terrified citizens, caused property damage, and attempted to plunge the capital into chaos and fighting.

The Presidency of the General Staff said that it orders all military and support units to abide by the notification of the Supreme Commander to prevent the movement of military convoys.

The Chief of Staff confirmed, according to its statement, that it is committed to the civil state and the peaceful transfer of power, through fair elections away from the use of weapons.
