Tripoli- The National Unity Government announced that it is continuing its work as usual, and that it will continue its initiative to hold elections during the month of June and return the secretariat to its owners from the Libyan citizens, to choose a legislative and executive authority and new constitutional rules in accordance with the legal periods included in the agreement Geneva.

The government said in a statement this evening, Tuesday, that in light of this absurdity, any attempt to storm its headquarters will be considered an attack against government headquarters, claiming an unofficial capacity, and it will deal with such moves in accordance with the correct law and hold accountable anyone who dares to approach any government headquarters or tamper with With the stability and capabilities of the Libyans, and this approach that the government will follow, it is the least it can do against those who are content to be part of a play called fraud and betrayal, according to the statement.

In its statement, the Government of National Unity called on the Presidential Council and the President of the Supreme Court, in his capacity as head of the Supreme Judicial Council, to assume their historical responsibilities, and expedite the reopening of the constitutional department, to finally adjudicate all problems that threaten the stability of the country, and to stop the tampering practiced by the legislative authority and its attempt to monopolize the authorities. And that the continued closure of the constitutional department at this crucial time is considered a direct contribution to the continuation of the chaos.

GNA Ministry of Interior discusses with relevant authorities mechanism of eliminating rift valley disease spreading among livestock

Tripoli-An expanded security meeting was held at the Ministry of Interior office chaired by the Undersecretary for Directorates, General Bashir Al Amin, to discuss a mechanism for eliminating rift valley disease, which is widely spreading among livestock, each according to his competence.

The meeting included the Director of the Office of Information and Security Follow-up in the Ministry of Interior Major General Fawzi Ghaith, the Director of the General Directorate of Port Security, Brigadier Wanis Al-Shukri, the Head of the Municipal Guard, the Director of customs, the Director of the Office of relations, the Spokesman for the Agricultural Police and a representative of animal health.

Participants in the meeting stressed the hard work to address the disease and other symptoms that are being addressed by those public actors, and to provide all the resources available.

U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya meets Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee.

Tripoli-US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland met with member of the House of Representatives Finance Committee Khalifa Al-Dughari, with whom he discussed the latest developments in the House of Representatives, and briefed him on the extent of the strong interest of the United States in dealing with the House and all political parties, to help move towards holding the elections that Libyans deserve.

Following the meeting Norland tweeted: “MP Khalifa Salah Al-Dughari and I discussed developments in the House of Representatives and the strong interest of the United States in dealing with the House of Representatives and all parties on the Libyan scene, in order to push for elections that the Libyan people deserve.”
