(FIFA) is adopting the Arabic language as an official language within the Federation

Zurich- The International Football Association Board (FIFA) announced today, Thursday, the adoption of Arabic as its official language, after the members of the federations voted during the “FIFA Congress” held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The “FIFA Congress” was held on the sidelines of the 2022 World Cup draw, which will be held on Friday, after a proposal was submitted for adoption by the International Federation on the 18th of last December, which coincides with the International Day of the Arabic Language.

In its statement last December, the International Federation announced a proposal to adopt the Arabic language within the International Federation at the conclusion of the “Arab Cup” competitions, which were held for the first time under the umbrella of (FIFA).

In its statement, the International Federation expressed its appreciation for the importance of the Arabic language, which is spoken by more than 450 million people in more than 20 Arabic-speaking countries, in addition to millions of Arabs around the world.

It is noteworthy that the International Federation adopts four languages: English, French, German, and Spanish, and the Arabic language has now been added to it, coinciding with the establishment of the World Cup in an Arab country for the first time in the history of world football.

Prime Minister confirms government’s keenness to activate decentralization and support local administration

Tripoli-Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, attended, Wednesday, in Tripoli, the conclusion of the work of the Supreme Council for Local Administration for the 2022, which lasted for three days, during which the municipalities’ plan for the current year was discussed.

Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba affirmed that the Government of National Unity is determined to activate decentralization, support local administration, complete the transfer of competencies and collect local revenuesAl-Dabaiba added that there is a good percentage of the development budget allocated to municipalities whose value was set at 2.5 billion dinars according to technical criteria determined by the Ministry of Local Government.

During the meeting, the Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, briefed the Prime Minister results of the first meeting of the local administration and the recommendations issued in its regard.

Chinese government supports the presidential efforts to achieve stability in Libya

Tripoli, March 31, 2022 (LANA) – The Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Libya, Wang Zhimin, conveyed the greetings of his country’s government to the Presidential Council, and its support for its efforts to achieve stability in Libya.

This came during the reception, Thursday morning, of the Vice President of the Presidential Council, “Abdullah Al-Lafi” in the capital, Tripoli, for the Chinese diplomat.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the political situation in Libya were reviewed, support for the democratic path and the road map that was drawn up in Geneva, where “Al-Alfi” stressed working to develop a mechanism for holding elections according to an agreed constitutional rule, and the Council’s support for the “Stephanie Williams” initiative.

The interview touched on the efforts made by the Presidential Council to achieve national reconciliation, and the steps taken to announce consensus on a national charter soon, through a conference that includes all parties, which will pave the way for reaching consensus on a constitutional basis for holding elections, in implementation of the aspirations of the Libyan people.

In turn, the Chinese Chargé d’Affairs affirmed his country’s desire to develop its relations with Libya, and its willingness to work to support economic stability and help in reconstruction, with the return of Chinese companies to work in Libya, and activating previous agreements.

The Presidential Representative welcomed the Libyan-Chinese rapprochement in the economic and industrial field, and stressed the Presidential Council’s desire to activate bilateral agreements between the two countries.
