President of Presidential Council meets with member of House of Representatives of Tobruk.

Tobruk, President of the Presidential Council Mohammed Al Mnefi met on Saturday member of the House of Representatives of Tobruk Al Salheen Abdul Nabi to discuss needs of the city of Tobruk.

The meeting touched on the situation of the workers of the Seawater Desalination Plant in Tobruk, and the obstacles facing them, whereby Al Mnefi instructed the Minister of Water Resources and the Minister of Finance to pay their dues as soon as possible.

The meeting also discussed the obstacles facing the to-be-built Al Marasas desalination plant, the Al-Bomba Bay desalination plant, and the obstacles facing the Ajdabiya Tobruk man-made river pipeline project. The meeting also tackled the Libyan-Italian agreement on the international Emsa’ed – Ras Ajdir highway, and the first phase Emsa’ed – Al Marj.

Member of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi appreciates the meeting of Al-Haddad and Al-Nadouri, describing it as a step in the path of the unified army.

Tripoli, Member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Hussein Al-Lafi, highly valued the efforts devoted to burying the specter of war and division, which led to a meeting with the “Chiefs of Staff” Lieutenant-General Muhammad Al-Haddad and Lieutenant-General Abdul Razek Al-Nadori, which brought them together today.

Al-Lafi commented on the aforementioned meeting, saying: “We have sought, since the first day of our assignment, to establish a ceasefire, to stop fighting among the people, and to harness every drop of sweat in developing our country. No one doubts their loyalty to the homeland. that they sit down and have no agenda in front of them except the one of Libya, whose unified army defends its waters, protects its lands, and its gains.

The meeting of Messrs. Mohammed Al-Haddad and Abdel-Razek Al-Nadori is a step towards the project of building the new Libyan state and its unified army that will defend its territory and protect its borders.

We highly appreciate all the efforts that brought us to this day, and those who devoted all their time to bury the specter of war and division.

Election Commission and UN Coordinator discuss the upcoming electoral process, developments in the political landscape and implications for the process.

Tripoli, Chairman of the Council of the High National Election Commission Emad Al-Sayeh discussed Saturday morning with the Assistant Secretary-General and coordinator of the UN Support Mission in Libya, Rizdon Zeninga, the latest developments in the upcoming electoral process, developments in the political landscape and its implications for the electoral process.

The meeting, held at THE Commission’s headquarters in Tripoli, also reviewed Commission’s operational progress by completing the registration phase of candidates and preparations that covered training and logistical work.

Zeninga stressed the support of the UN mission and the international community for the Libyan elections and the need to hold them on set time, as this electoral process reflects on the peace and stability of Libya.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following up the file of Libyan prisoners in Italian prisons.

Tripoli, The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Expatriate Affairs, Chairman of the Permanent Committee to Follow-up on the Cases of Libyan Prisoners Abroad, “Muhammad Zidan”, discussed with Libya’s Ambassador to Italy, Omar Al-Tarhouni, the conditions of Libyan prisoners in Italian prisons.

This came during a meeting that focused on the importance of following up on prisoners’ cases, providing them with the necessary assistance, and discussing the mechanism for providing financial support to them and overcoming the difficulties and obstacles they may encounter.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged regarding taking practical mechanisms to mitigate sentences issued against prisoners or transfer them to Libya to complete the rest of their sentences in reform and rehabilitation institutions.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of coordinating with the competent authorities to set dates for visiting some prisoners in Italian prisons.
