High National Election Commission: 2757 candidates had been nominated to the House of Representatives.

Tripoli, The High National Election Commission announced that the total number of candidates to the House of Representatives as of the end of Sunday was 2757.

In its daily report, the Commission explained that the number of candidates for the first district was (202), including (173) men and 29 women, while the number of candidates for the second district (232) including (182) men and (50) women and the number of candidates for the third district (537) of which (461) were men and (76) were women. The Commission added that the fourth district had 156 candidates, including 129 men and 27 women, and the fifth district (111) candidates, including 89 men and 22 women. Candidates to the sixth district (191), including (150) men and (41) women, and the seventh district (142) candidates , including (120) men and (22) women.

The commission’s daily report also stated that the number of candidates for the House of Representatives in the 8th District was 206, including (197) men and (9) women, and for the Ninth District (173) candidates, including 162 men and (162) men and (11) Women, the 10th District (124) candidates, including 114 men, 10 women, and the 11th District (329) candidates, including 271 men and 58 women. According to its report, the Commission indicated that there were 104 candidates for the 12th district, including 93 men, 11 women, 13th District (250) candidates (223) men and 27 women.

Ministers of Youth and Tourism discuss support for youth tourism.

Tripoli, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Abdulsalam Abdullah Allah, discussed in a meeting with the Minister of Youth Fathallah Al-Zani, coordination and joint cooperation in the field of youth tourism and the arrangements for launching the first tourism project to be organized in the city of Shahat.

The meeting dealt with proposals for developing youth tourism “and youth tourism institutions (youth hostels) according to a rehabilitation plan that will be implemented gradually” and cooperation between the two ministries to create paths and stations for youth tourism in mountains, forests, deserts and beaches through camping services.

Minister of Youth affirmed his keenness to support youth tourism, believing in its important role in creating national affinity and introducing the distinctive cultural and civilizational heritage of our country. For his part, the Minister of Tourism noted the importance of coordination and joint action between the two parties: working on developing visions and programmes for the development of youth tourism.

Maintenance work continues for annual overhaul of Zawia Oil Refinery.

Zawia, The annual overhaul work continues to maintain the units of the first unit at the Zawia Oil Refinery with the aim of reaching the target production rates, reducing unscheduled shutdowns and maintaining the operational life of the refinery equipment.

The maintenance includes rebuilding the furnaces (20H1 – 21H6) in addition to some maintenance work associated with the utility units without affecting the operations of the rest of the units.

Eng. Mohamed Emara Al-Mabrouk, Head of the Annual Overhaul Committee, stated that the maintenance team includes a group of highly qualified specialists from the relevant departments to programme and define the requirements of the annual Overhaul work, including spare parts, equipment and technical labour necessary to implement the targeted activities, and to overcome all problems and difficulties to ensure the smooth running of maintenance work. According to the preset timetable.

Emara added that the overhaul works for the improvement units over a period of 26 days, and the rebuilding of the furnaces, which was launched in conjunction with the annual overhaul works, as the reconstruction work takes about 100 days. It is worth noting that the operations of the second unit of the refinery and the two distillation units of the first unit are proceeding normally.

Member of the Military Commission 5+5: Libyans will not engage in a new war, commission neutral and with a mission to preserve Libya’s unity.

London A member of the Joint Military Commission 5+5 Lt. Gen. Mraji Al-Amami confirmed that the strength and impartiality of the members of the committee makes immune to political or electoral conflicts.

“The committee, which has the support of the Libyan people and the international community, is primarily concerned with the unity and security of the country, and we have a great awareness of the seriousness of the current phase,” al-Amami said in an interview with the Saudi daily Al-Sharq al-Awsat in London on Monday.

Al-Amami reiterated committee’s insistence on removing mercenaries and all foreign forces from Libya, to strengthen the country’s sovereignty: “We are determined to withdraw all the forces from our country, and we have upcoming encounters with both Moscow and Ankara to withdraw (mercenaries) Syrians and Wagner, but for the time being there are requirements that these groups withdraw simultaneously and gradually, so that there is no gap in the military balance.”

The National Center for Disease Control issues several recommendations regarding the spread of the “Omicron” mutant in some countries of the world.

Tripoli, The National Center for Disease Control issued a circular that included important recommendations regarding the emergence of a mutant Corona epidemic “Omicron”, which has begun to spread in some countries.

The circular, which came after the meeting that was held between the scientific committee to confront the Corona epidemic at the center and some of its technical departments on November 28, regarding the spread of this mutant, included several recommendations.

The recommendations stipulated that Libyan citizens should not travel to the countries where the mutant appeared in order to avoid infection, while the center stressed that all travelers coming from these countries should undergo a PCR analysis, with a negative result 48 hours before, with home quarantine and no contact for at least 10 days.

The third recommendation indicated that a PCR analysis should be conducted for suspected cases coming from travel for fear of being infected with the mutant, while confirming the fourth recommendation that foreigners coming from the mutated countries should not enter until after proof of hotel quarantine for a period of at least 10 days and at own expense an analysis (PCR) negative.

The last recommendation called for the International Health Supervision Office to prepare a weekly update on the countries in which the mutant appeared and the measures to be taken at the ports.
