Tripoli, British Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa James Cleverley confirmed that the international community will not hesitate to take action against those who undermine the electoral process in Libya.

In a tweet posted to the British Foreign Office and Development Twitter page, Cleverley said that all candidates participating in the elections should act in good faith before, during and after the elections, agree to set aside partisan differences and accept the results, noting that the international community would not hesitate to take action against those who undermine the process.

Tripoli, The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba expressed his appreciation for the important role of the Scouts and Guides movement, as well as obligating it to play its role in the development and development of society.

This came during his meeting, Monday at the Cabinet Office, with the General Movement of Scouts and Girl Guides, represented by the Commander-in-Chief of the movement and his deputy, in addition to the Executive Commissioner of the Scouts of Libya, and the Executive Commissioner of the Scouts and Girl Guides of Tripoli.

The delegation of the Scout Movement thanked the Prime Minister for his continuous encouragement of the movement and for keeping the doors of communication open. They also called on the government to support the movement and its activities.

Tripoli, Ministry of Interior reviewed with the Director of Tarhuna Security the latest work done in securing election centers.

The meeting was held by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for District Affairs, Major General Bashir Al-Amin this morning with the Director of Tarhuna Security, Brigadier General Noureddine Al-Mishaal to discuss the latest work accomplished in securing the election centers.

The meeting, which was held at the ministry’s office in the capital, Tripoli, reviewed the security situation within the city of Tarhuna, according to what was published by the official page of the ministry.

Cairo, Representative of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Monday morning, at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

A statement by the Arab League stated that Aboul Gheit and Al-Koni reviewed – during a meeting at the League headquarters – the developments of the situation on the Libyan arena, and that the two parties agreed on the importance of holding elections according to the announced timetables, and the need to support the work of the Electoral Commission at this stage to achieve the electoral maturity.

The two parties also stressed – according to the statement – the importance of the exit of all mercenaries, foreign fighters and foreign forces from Libyan territory, and “the possible role of the League of Arab States, especially the Arab countries neighboring Libya in this area, by playing a mediating role with the countries to which these mercenaries belong to ensure their exit is gradual, balanced and simultaneous, avoiding Libya and all countries in the region from the potential risks of this exit.”

During the meeting, Al-Koni stressed that regional problems must be solved with regional initiatives, and that he relies a lot on the role of the Arab League in this regard.. He stressed the importance of the Arab League’s support for the electoral process in Libya and sending observers as a guarantee for the conduct of the elections in order to achieve their success.

During the meeting, coordination and cooperation were discussed to secure the upcoming elections, follow up on the difficulties and obstacles facing the work of the security services, and find the necessary solutions to solve them.

The meeting, which was held on Monday morning at the Ministry’s office in Tripoli, also discussed the progress of work in the main chamber to secure the elections and the sub-chambers, and to develop urgent solutions to the problems facing the workflow in order to achieve the best results in the success of the electoral process.

The Minister of Interior listened to adequate explanations about the progress of work and the ongoing preparations and equipment in securing the polling stations through cooperation and coordination between all components of the Ministry of Interior concerned with the security plan.
