New York, The Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, considered that the second Berlin Conference on Libya is an important opportunity to unite the international community in assessing the current situation in Libya, and to provide support in preparing for the elections as scheduled in December 24.

Dujarric said in a press conference at the building of the International Organization, Wednesday: “The themes of the conference will focus on the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign forces from the country, as well as steps towards reunification of the main Libyan institutions “referring to the participation of the Secretary-General via video technology and the presence of the UN envoy, “Jan Kubis.” Personally at the conference.

Tripoli, Chairman of the Board of the National Oil Company Mustafa Sun’Allah met on Thursday the Austrian Ambassador to Libya to discuss cooperation in the oil and gas area, reaffirming the close Libyan-Austrian relations in the oil and gas area.

A statement by the NOC posted to its SMS page, said the Austrian Ambassador highlighted the ‘considerable improvement of the security and stability situation in Libya under the Government of National Unity, which he said ‘will have a positive impact on return of international companies to resume their work in the country.

Sun’Allah valued the contribution of the Austrian OMV oil company to the Libyan oil and gas sector, saying the company was an important partner in capacity building and sustainable development projects in the last period.

Tripoli, A session of Libyan-Spanish talks was held in Tripoli, which included the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity “Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba” and the Spanish Prime Minister “Pedro Sanchez”, and members of the two delegations.

The discussions dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing them to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries.

During the talks, it was also agreed to reactivate the Libyan-Spanish joint committee, which has not convened since 2008, to re-evaluate all previous concluded agreements and determine which is feasible.

A number of memoranda of understanding were signed between the two sides in several areas that contribute to supporting the economy, development, trade exchange, and bilateral investment.

The Spanish government announced its approval to treat a number of children with cancer in Spanish hospitals.

The talks session concluded with a speech in which Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dabaiba affirmed the readiness of the government of national unity to build strategic relations with all friendly countries, hoping that the relationship with Spain would be a positive example of what the relationship between friends should be, and what can achieve of mutual benefits.

For his part, the Spanish Prime Minister stressed the depth of relations and ties between Spain and Libya and the two countries’ desire to consolidate these relations and expand them to include other areas.

He stressed his country’s support for Libya in these moments and its support for the wheel of stability and reconciliation.

Sanchez announced the reopening of his country’s embassy in Tripoli and the start of the consulate in providing its services by granting Schengen visas to citizens to contribute to increasing cooperation and strengthening relations between the two countries.

He pointed out that the delegation includes a number of Spanish businessmen and companies that are ready to contribute to supporting health facilities, reconstruction, infrastructure, renewable energy, agricultural and livestock wealth, as well as the oil and gas fields.

At the end of his speech, Sanchez hoped that his visit to Libya would be a positive turning point that would allow more joint action at this important historical stage.
