A Proposal For A Memorandum Of Understanding On Expanding Bilateral Cooperation In The Fields Of Renewable Energy Between Italy And Libya

Rome, Italian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Manliu Di Stefano said that a draft memorandum of understanding has been proposed between Italy and Libya on transforming energy systems.

The Italian news agency “Nova” quoted “Di Stefano” as saying – at the conclusion of the work of the Libyan – Italian Business Forum, which was held at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the participation of Prime Minister “Abdel Hamid Dbaiba” – that the time has come to think about transforming energy systems and expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation. To include the fields of renewable energy, “hydrogen, energy efficiency, infrastructure and electricity”, noting at the same time that a draft memorandum of understanding was proposed about it during the forum’s work.

The Libyan-Italian technical talks, which ended this evening at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on four main sectors: energy, communications, environmental management and infrastructure network design. Healthy cooperation; And infrastructure security and capacity building.

And “Nova”, citing its sources in the capital, Tripoli, confirmed that contacts have been underway between Libya and Italy for some time to develop a strong partnership in the energy transition sector, which also includes an important component of technological innovation and ingenuity.
