HARIRI HOSPITAL: 50 CORONA CASES, 25 CRITICAL CASES, 1 DEATH

In its daily report on the latest COVID-19 developments on Friday, Rafic Hariri University Hospital indicated the below:

– Number of examinations conducted in the hospital’s laboratories during the past 24 hours: 314

– Number of patients infected with Coronavirus currently in the hospital for follow-up: 50

– Number of suspected cases of being infected with Coronavirus during the past 24 hours: 4

– Number of recovered patients in the hospital during the past 24 hours: 8

– Total number of recoveries at the hospital to-date: 1148

– Number of cases transferred from the intensive care unit to the isolation unit after improvement: 1

– Number of critical cases inside the hospital: 25

– Number of Deaths: 1

PRESIDENCY PRESS OFFICE DENIES FALSE NEWS ABOUT PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC’S INTERFERENCE IN THE WORK OF STATE COUNCIL

The Presidency Press Office issued the following statement:

“Future Web” and VDLNEWS websites published false news about the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, exerting pressure on Head of the State Council, Judge Fadi Elias, to issue a decision to suspend the implementation of the discriminatory public prosecutor’s decision, Judge Ghassan Oweidat, regarding the redistribution of work in the Public Prosecution Office in Mount Lebanon, etc.

This information is false, and falls within the framework of lies which are being promoted to target the President of the Republic, and the effective judicial measures to combat financial crimes.

In addition, the position of the President of the Republic is firm not to interfere in the work of the judiciary.”

UNIFIL: WE URGE EVERYONE TO REMAIN CALM, AVOID FURTHER ESCALATING THE SITUATION & RISKING MORE LIVES

UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said in a statement: “We are aware of reports that a Lebanese civilian was killed along the Blue Line near Kafer Kila today during a confrontation with the IDF. UNIFIL’s Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Del Col is in direct contact with the parties to prevent further escalation.

Our troops are on the ground to prevent violations and together with the LAF we have enhanced security in the area.

UNIFIL immediately launched an investigation to determine the facts and circumstances.

Any loss of life is tragic, and we urge everyone to remain calm and avoid further escalating the situation and risking more lives.”

PRESIDENT AOUN CONDEMNS ISRAELI SHOOTING AT DEMONSTRATORS ON THE BORDER AND THE DEATH OF ONE PARTICIPANT, ASKS FOREIGN MINISTER TO INFORM THE UN

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, strongly condemned the crime committed by the Israeli forces opening fire this afternoon against a group of youths who were demonstrating at the southern borders in objection against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which led to the death of, Muhammad Tahan, and the wounding of another person.

President Aoun also assigned Foreign Minister, Charbel Wehbe, to inform the United Nations of the Israeli attack and its consequences, in preparation for taking the necessary steps.
