Riyadh to Host World Esports Championship

Riyadh, The first edition of the World Esports Championship will be hosted in Riyadh from July 4 to August 25. The event is the largest in the gaming and electronic-sports (esports) sector and will bring together top players, clubs, influencers, and publishers. The cup events will take place at the new Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) Arena, which is the world’s largest electronic-sports area.

The SEF Arena consists of five halls across two buildings with a capacity to accommodate around 7,500 people. It also features multiple shops, two dining areas, and a building dedicated to the Saudi Academy for Esports, covering a total area of approximately 35,000 square meters. The SEF Arena will serve as the venue for all local, regional, and international tournaments and events held in the Kingdom.

“To have the largest electronic sports area in the world is the result of years of work and efforts undertaken by SEF. The SEF Arena is a testament to the Kingdom’s ambition to become a center for gaming,” said SEF chief
executive Turki Al-Fawzan.
