Manama, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said that the GCC media plays a pivotal role in supporting joint GCC work and highlighting the remarkable achievements of the GCC countries.
Speaking at yesterday’s launch ceremony of the Gulf Press Union’s new website and logo in Manama, Albudaiwi added that the GCC media institutions have become among the most prestigious and credible in the world and hailed their continued development.
He pointed out that the GCC countries are always striving to enact media laws and projects that contribute to keeping pace with the media’s development and supporting media professionals in the member states.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership of Bahrain and Bahraini Minister of Information Ramzan Al Nuaimi for their efforts in supporting the GCC media in general, particularly hosting the Gulf Press Union for several years.
