FM: Security Council Resolution 2722 is a precedent that establishes legal chaos on international scene, & Sana’a is not concerned with resolution


Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Yemen condemned the Security Council’s adoption of Resolution No. 2722 presented by the delegations of America and Japan, reaffirming the Council’s abject failure to carry out its responsibilities approved by the United Nations Charter to maintain international peace security and protect human lives.

The Ministry explained in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the Security Council resolution, which was used as a tool by Washington, London, Paris and their allies supporting the Zionist enemy under a false pretext, with the intention of misleading world public opinion and trying to prepare at the same time for an illegal military escalation towards the Sana’a province. Because of its humanitarian and moral stance demanding an end to the military aggression of the Israeli enemy, which is committing war crimes and genocide against Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip, in addition to the ongoing siege that impedes the arriva
l of the water, energy and fuel the Strip needs for the third month in a row.

The Ministry statement stated that the support provided to the Zionist enemy by America, Britain and European countries pushed the usurping entity to practice all forms of violations of international law, international humanitarian law, international agreements related to human rights and the prevention of war crimes and genocide.

Foreign Affairs Ministry reiterated that the Sana’a province, based on a sense of humanitarian , moral responsibility , in response to the demands of the Yemeni people and the revolutionary leadership’s directives and the Supreme Political Council, had taken a humanitarian decision to provide all forms of Yemeni support to support the residents of Gaza Strip, and it was announced to all international and regional shipping companies that the Yemeni naval forces were imposing a naval blockade.

On all ships owned by the Israeli enemy or destined for it, it will not allow the passage of Israeli ships or des
tined for it, while the rest of the ships have complete freedom of passage through the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The statement stressed the importance of working to intensify the efforts of the Security Council towards ending the aggression against the Gaza Strip and stopping the war crimes , genocide practiced by the Israeli enemy.

As for the adoption of Security Council Resolution No. 2722 and the continued misleading of world public opinion and the issuance of threats and threats to target the Republic of Yemen, it represents another example of the policy of The double standards practiced by Washington, London, Paris and Berlin to defend the Israeli enemy, which is witnessing internal collapse, and the governments of those countries are trying to export the problems of the Israeli enemy to Yemen, Iraq, Syria and other countries in the region.

The Foreign Ministry’s statement urged member states of the Security Council and capitals that support the Israeli enemy not to violate the interpretat
ion of international law according to their whims, interests, and to listen to the demands of their peoples to stop the war in Gaza Strip, and not to issue false statements against the Sana’a government, which is committed to preserving the security and safety of international navigation and international trade in Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and that its military operations are limited and limited to ships owned by the Israeli enemy or heading to it.

Its continuation also, is linked to the Zionist entity stopping its military aggression against Gaza and allowing humanitarian aid, food, and fuel to enter the Strip without obstacles.

Foreign Affairs Ministry concluded its statement by emphasizing that the content of Security Council Resolution No. 2722, which came after the Council’s failure to carry out its responsibilities, constitutes a precedent that establishes legal chaos on the international scene and the emergence of conflicts in various parts of the world.
