First Museums Conference Concludes in Riyadh with Pioneering Initiatives, Global Partnerships


Riyadh: The first International Conference for Education and Innovation in Museums (ICEIM) concluded in Riyadh, leaving a distinct mark on the development of the museum sector in Saudi Arabia.

The conference marked the launch of pioneering initiatives aimed at enhancing education and innovation in the field of museums. These initiatives include a new joint postgraduate program and an academic strategic partnership, along with an innovative educational platform supported by artificial intelligence.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Museums Commission announced a strategic partnership with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London and Effat University in Jeddah to establish the Kingdom’s first joint postgraduate program in museum studies. This program will provide a unique combination of theoretical knowledge and practical training, enabling graduates to contribute to a dynamic museum sector in Saudi Arabia based on the best global practices.

Additionally, the Museum
s Commission unveiled a new initiative known as the Museum Training Academy (MTA), which offers the world’s first professional platform for education and development in the field of museums, supported by AI.
