The Governor of the Central Bank and the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya discuss joint cooperation

Tripoli- The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, “Siddiq Al-Kabeer”, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Assistant Secretary-General, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, “Georgette Gannon”, the challenges faced by the United Nations mission in accomplishing its tasks in Libya.

During the meeting that was held between them in Tripoli, Gannon reviewed the United Nations Program on Assessment of Recovery and Peacebuilding in Libya (RPBA), according to what the Central Bank published on its official Facebook page.

The discussion also touched upon some of the challenges facing the UN mission in accomplishing its tasks in Libya and the extent to which the Central Bank of Libya can cooperate in overcoming some of those challenges.

Today, U.S. Special Envoy and Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland visited Tripoli for meetings with a focus on maintaining calm and returning to the path toward elections. Minister of Economy and Trade discusses with Tunisian Ambassador to Libya cooperation between the two countries in economy and investment areas

Tripoli- GNU Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Haweij ,discussed with the Tunisian Ambassador to Libya Al-Asaad Al-Ajaili ,during a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs on Monday ,ways of upgrading cooperation between the two countries in the economy and investment areas and establishment of joint exhibitions in cooperation with the chambers of commerce in the two countries.

The National Council for Economic Development is considering a proposal to pay a salary to some affected groups in society.

An expanded meeting was held at the headquarters of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, yesterday, Sunday, to discuss a proposal regarding the payment of a basic salary to some segments of society.

The meeting, which was chaired by Mahmoud Al Ftaisi, Director-General of the Council, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Zakat Fund.

The proposal aims to help groups affected in society by the Corona pandemic, as well as those who do not have security pensions.

It is noteworthy that the proposal was submitted by the United Nations Development Program in Libya (UNDP) to the National Council for Economic and Social Development within the framework of partnership and cooperation between these two institutions.

A number of illegal immigrants were arrested after raiding a den in the outskirts of the city of Sabratha

Sabratha- The investigation members of the Al-Alalqa Police Station in the Sabratha Security Directorate, in cooperation with the criminal investigation patrols, arrested a number of illegal immigrants after raiding a den in the outskirts of the city.

The Ministry of Interior stated that illegal immigrants of different nationalities have been taken all legal measures against them and referred to collection centers in coordination with the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency.

Head of GNU Government opens Libya Food Fair

Tripoli-The Head of GNU Government Abdul Hamid Al Dabaiba on Sunday opened the Libya Food Exhibition at Tripoli International fair in its third edition. The exhibition organized by the General Authority for the Promotion of Investment and Privatization.

Manufacturers and importers of food domestically and internationally are taking part in the exhibition, which runs from March 13 to 16. It aims to support the national economy and industries and ensuring food security.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by Minister of Economy Mohammed Al-Haweij and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Adel Juma and chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for the Promotion of Investment and Privatization and the Ambassadors of Indonesia and Tunisia as well as a number of businessmen.

Al-Hawij confirmed told Lana the exhibition is being organized as the Russian-Ukrainian crisis erupted, which negatively affected and drew attention away from the food security that must be provided to the citizens in terms of stability of prices that must be within the reach of the them.
