Al-Koni affirms the Presidential Council’s commitment to unifying state institutions and bringing Libya to elections


Tripoli: Representative of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Libya, Michael Unmacht.

During the meeting held today, Sunday, Al-Koni praised the efforts of countries concerned with the Libyan issue to achieve stability, and stressed the commitment of the Presidential Council to work to unify state institutions to bring Libya to the electoral stage, and Germany’s active role in the previous paths.

He stressed the need to unify efforts to develop a road map in cooperation with countries interested in the Libyan file to ensure stability.

For his part, the German Ambassador, Michael Unmacht, praised the efforts of the Presidential Council aimed at achieving stability in Libya, ways to end the transitional stages, and working with the UN envoy to achieve consensus between the parties participating in the political process.

The meeting discussed the situation in the southern regions, which suffer from a lack of capabilities and are witnessing di
splacement to the northern regions, waves of illegal immigrants and organized crime due to the fragile situation on the borders in the southern regions as a result of the events taking place in neighboring countries and their repercussions on Libya.
