HM King receives written letter from Malaysian Monarch


Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a written letter from the Malaysian Monarch HM Sultan Ibrahim Ibni AlMarhoum Sultan Iskandar, inviting HM to attend the coronation ceremony of HM Sultan Ibrahim as King of Malaysia.

The letter was received on behalf of HM the King by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad AlKhalifa, the Personal Representative of HM the King, during HH’s reception of a Malaysian delegation, led by the Malaysian Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadhl, who is on a visit to the Kingdom. He conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Malaysian Monarch to HM the King and his wishes of progress and prosperity for Bahrain and its people.

During the meeting, HH Shaikh Abdullah welcomed the delegation, and requested it to convey the greetings of HM the King and his wishes of further growth and development for the Malaysian people.

His Highness lauded the deep-rooted, historical relations between the two countries, and the continuous growth in all fields for the interest
of their peoples.

For his part, the Minister of Communications expressed thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality the delegation received, which demonstrates the strong ties between Bahrain and Malaysia.

Bahrain International Garden Show to be held next February


Manama: Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), announced that the Bahrain International Garden Show will be held next February.

The official opening of the show will be on February 19, 2025, and it will be open to the public during February 20-23, 2025, at the Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir.

The Bahrain International Garden Show is a leading regional exhibition that showcases the latest innovations in sustainable agriculture and gardening. It provides a platform for local and international companies to introduce their products, services and technologies to a wide market. The exhibition sheds light on agricultural technologies that contribute to the development and sustainability of food security the agricultural sector and in the Kingdom.

During the press conference, Shaikha Maram announced the allocation of a larger space for the farmers’ market pavilion, allowing more local farmers to participate and interact with visitors,
highlighting Bahraini agricultural products and facilitating consumers’ access to them.

She said that the Bahrain International Garden Show is a unique event that serves as a trade exhibition and an educational platform. As a trade exhibition, it provides participants with valuable opportunities to develop their businesses and expand their activities locally, regionally, and internationally. As an educational exhibition, it offers rich information, facilitates the exchange of expertise and opinions, and showcases the latest innovations in garden care, green spaces, and environmental protection.

Zahra Abdulmalik, the Chairperson of the Bahrain Garden Club, said that the Bahrain Garden Club, celebrating its 60th anniversary, will participate in the Bahrain International Garden Show by organising various competitions and activities. The club has reviewed and updated the competition categories to align with the Kingdom’s agricultural heritage and the club’s commitment to gardening and community engagement.

She
announced that the competition will feature over 100 categories for adult participants and 19 categories for school students aged 3 to 18 years old. Registration will open on October 1, and interested individuals can register by visiting the club’s headquarters.

The Club’s Chairperson added that the year 2025 not only represents a celebration of the legacy of the Bahrain Garden Club, but also embodies the commitment to increasing the green spaces in our Kingdom and living in a more sustainable planet. At the end of the press conference, Shaikha Maram bint Isa invited official entities and private companies to contact the NIAD initiative for further information and reservation of spaces in the show.

HM King condoles with Amir of Kuwait


Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, over the passing of the late Sheikha Sahera Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.

Ambassador to Belgium meets MENA Director General of EU’s External Action Service


Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dosari, Bahraini Ambassador to Belgium and Head of its Mission to the European Union, met with Hélène Le Gal, the Director General for the Middle East and North Africa of the European Union’s External Action Service.

The ambassador praised Bahrain’s progress in bilateral relations with the EU, emphasising the need for strengthening cooperation.

The director general praised the bilateral relations and their continuous development, noting the EU’s keenness to develop cooperation at various levels.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international topics and issues of common interest

HM King congratulates Mauritanian President on re-election


Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Mauritania, on winning the re-election for a second presidential term.

HM King Hamad wished HE President El Ghazouani success in carrying out his duties to achieve the aspirations of the Mauritanian people for further progress and prosperity.

NBR urges all VAT payers to update their contact details


Manama: The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) calls on all VAT payers to update their contact details registered on the NBR portal to ensure they receive all important updates and notifications. Maintaining accurate contact details will help the NBR provide the best possible service to achieve maximum transparency, while ensuring ongoing communication to facilitate smooth procedural operations for VAT payers.

The NBR clarified that the contact person should be either the owner of the entity, the authorized signatory, or an authorized employee working within the same entity. The NBR emphasized the importance of not sharing the log-in credentials with any unauthorized persons, as the VAT payer is fully responsible for any implications resulting from failing to receive or respond to communications and notifications.

To assist VAT payers in staying informed of the latest updates, the NBR will always use the registered contact details to regularly send out important announcements regarding NBR updates and notifi
cations regarding the upcoming filing deadlines, in addition to direct communication with VAT payers to discuss all matters and provide necessary clarifications. Having the correct email address and phone number will prevent VAT payers from missing out on any vital information and allow them to take the necessary action in a timely manner, avoiding any potential consequences.

In line with facilitating procedures and ensuring the effective implementation of VAT requirements, the NBR offers the VAT agent or representative service, where the VAT payer can benefit from this service by appointing an authorized VAT agent or representative to carry out transactions related to VAT, and representing the VAT payer towards the NBR in all transactions, such as submitting VAT returns, reconsideration and appeals requests, and providing documents required by the NBR – if any – in addition to requesting the necessary clarifications and other authorizations.
