Qatar, Egypt, US Call on Hamas, Israel to Finalize Agreement Embodying Principles Outlined by President Biden

Doha: As mediators in the ongoing discussions to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages and detainees, the State of Qatar, the United States of America, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, jointly call on both Hamas and Israel to finalize the agreement embodying the principles outlined by President Biden on May 31, 2024.

In a joint statement, they said: “These principles brought the demands of all parties together in a deal that serves multiple interests and will bring immediate relief both to the long-suffering people of Gaza as well as the long-suffering hostages and their families. This deal offers a roadmap for a permanent ceasefire and ending the crisis.”

Makkah Police Bust Fake Hajj Campaign Promoters, Warn Public of Online Scams


Makkah: Makkah Police have arrested two Egyptian residents for promoting a fraudulent Hajj campaign through social media. The campaign falsely promised accommodation, transportation, and securing a sacrifice for pilgrims.

Authorities apprehended the individuals, took legal action, and referred them to the Public Prosecution.

The Directorate of Public Security urges citizens and residents to remain vigilant and avoid responding to suspicious online advertisements. These ads may offer services like performing Hajj on behalf of others, securing and distributing sacrifices, selling Hajj bracelets, or providing transportation. These scams often involve fictitious entities and individuals, and their sole purpose is to deceive and defraud potential pilgrims.

Authorities warn that individuals caught engaging in such fraudulent activities will be penalized in accordance with the law.

To ensure a safe and legitimate Hajj experience, the Directorate of Public Security urges citizens and residents to comply with offi
cial Hajj regulations and instructions.

It also advises people to report any suspected violations by calling the designated numbers: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province regions, and 999 in all other regions of Saudi Arabia.

MoEHE Honors Qatar’s ITEX and ISAF Winners Held in Malaysia and US Respectively

Doha: In cooperation with the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council (QRDI Council), the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) honored Qatar’s winners in the International Exhibition for Innovation, Invention, and Technology (ITEX), which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in mid-May.

Moreover, the Ministry also honored the students who won in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which was held in the United States from May 11-18.

MoEHE’s honoring ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi and QRDI Council Secretary General Eng. Omar Al Ansari, along with a lineup of ministry officials, school principals and supervisors, as well as the students and their parents.

The ceremony screened a short film documenting the students’ experiences and achievements abroad.

At ITEX, the State of Qatar’s students won 12 medals:10 gold and two silver.

The research was titled “Identifying New Sponge Species From Qatar Marine Environment Using Molecular Techniques.”

Qatar Charity Sends Food and Medical Aid to Gaza

Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has sent food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip through its office in Jordan, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO). This aid is expected to help tens of thousands of people.

HE Qatar Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani and General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Jordan Saleh Al Marri participated in the launch of Qatar Charity’s campaign to send food parcels to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with JHCO. This continued for four days.

The Qatari aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, through Qatar Charity, included 10,000 food parcels that are expected to benefit approximately 50,000 beneficiaries. The parcels contain basic foodstuffs that are sufficient for one family for a whole month.

During the launch of the campaign, HE Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani emphasized the importance of providing aid to the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, noting that “it is a humanitarian duty that we always carry out th
rough constant coordination with our brothers in Jordan.” He pointed to the importance of the efforts provided by Qatari humanitarian organizations in Jordan, which aim to serve the mutual interests of Jordan and Qatar.

General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s office in Jordan Saleh Al Marri participated in sending medicines and medical supplies to Gaza. This aid provided by Qatar Charity, in collaboration with JHCO, included 15 tons of medicines and medical supplies.

Al Marri stated that after sending three trucks of medical aid, the office will continue to deliver assistance to needy and financially struggling families and sponsor orphans in Jordan, thanking the donors in Qatar.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity has been providing aid to Gaza since October. It has provided 1,000 tons of aid through 95 planes. The emergency relief project also included over 640,000 meals, 840 tons of food, and 150 tons of tents, shelter supplies, and clothing.

Makkah: The Agency for Field Services and Affairs at the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness of the Grand Mosque of Makkah and its environs. This commitment extends to the Safa and Marwa mountains, which are a crucial component of the Umrah and Hajj experience.

To ensure the highest hygiene standards at the Grand Mosque, a dedicated work plan is being implemented. It entails a weekly disinfection process of the Safa and Marwa mountains by using cleaning tools and materials specifically designed for the structure, ensuring that the delicate surfaces are treated with proper care.

A dedicated team of architectural technicians plays a critical role in the upkeep of these sacred spaces. Their daily tasks include monitoring the condition of the Safa and Marwa mountains, and removing any traces of dirt, dust, or other debris.

This comprehensive approach ensures constant protection of the Grand Mosque and its sacred spaces, an
d enables pilgrims to focus on their spiritual journey.

Ministry of Awqaf Honors Scholarship Graduates for 2023-2024

Doha: The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has honored 36 scholarship graduates both from the boarding and seminary students for the year 2023-2024, in the presence of HE Minister of Awqaf Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim.

In his commencement address, Assistant Director of the Department of Religious Call and Guidance at the Ministry of Awqaf Jassim Abdullah Al Ali affirmed the ministry’s pride in graduating this contingent of students, adding that the ministry has been making tremendous strides every day, in terms of services and scholarship programs afforded to students. He affirmed that scholarships have earned standing ovation from many countries worldwide, with the number of beneficiaries reaching over 45 nationalities, highlighting that the ministry had received roughly 21 nationalities in 2013.

Through this program, the ministry strives to raise the awareness of Muslim communities on Islamic Sharia through Shaira and moderate curricula culminating in the spread of science and
Dawah, Al Ali added. He emphasized that the State of Qatar has evident efforts and footprint around the world in terms of disseminating the reliable knowledge and the call for moderation, underlining that the Ministry is honored to exert massive efforts to serve Islam.

In concluding his remarks, Al Ali told the honored students that they received the outgrowth of their massive dedication in all education phases, wishing them success and to steadfastly proceed with their perseverance, as the nation is desperately waiting for the students’ efforts, adding that Allah, the Almighty, opened many countries and helped the educated people to close the doors of ignorance and misguidance.

In his remarks on behalf of the graduates, Graduate Muhammad Abdel Wasi from the Federal Republic of Nigeria said this was the distinguished day the students had been desperately waiting for, adding that the feeling of success is great, which indicates that following a long track of efforts and challenges, they are finally crowned w
ith success. He thanked and appreciated all teaching staff for their steadfast dedication.
