EXPRO Launches Awareness Campaign about National Manual for Assets and Facilities Management


Riyadh: The Government Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) has launched the third edition of its awareness campaign “Evolution of Tradition” to raise awareness about the importance of the National Manual for Assets and Facilities Management, which has become a unified reference for government entities to manage public assets and facilities with quality and efficiently, to preserve resources and support sustainability.

The manual, prepared by EXPRO in partnership with experienced national cadres from several government entities, informs about the best local and international practices. Its goal is to unify the procedures for managing public assets and facilities, ensure compliance with local legislation, and build asset management systems by registering and evaluating them to support optimal decision making. It also is to extend the life cycle of assets, manage public facilities efficiently, taking into consideration cost and quality, and relying on continuous improvement, and preserve resou
rces through financial planning of asset and facility management, and effective management of supply chains and contracts, and thus contribute to achieving government excellence and enhancing financial sustainability, in line with Vision 2030.

EXPRO teams at government entities also organize activities to raise awareness about the manual, which targets several government sectors, including education and health, buildings and infrastructure, and security and military. It covers several specializations, including emergency management, energy and sustainability management, maintenance management, environmental health and safety, risk management, as well as contract and financial planning management, quality, and asset management and condition assessment.

The campaign showcases success stories of government entities that used the National Manual for Assets and Facilities Management.

EXPRO has made the manual available on its website, organized and classified according to the needs of different entities. Govern

The awareness campaign includes a series of visual materials that explain the importance of following the manual’s guidelines to organize and facilitate the work of government entities, and achieve significant benefits at national level, in terms of efficiency and quality, which directly impacts the performance of these entities and of citizens.

EXPRO endeavors to contribute to government entities spending efficiently, enhancing the efficiency of government procurement operations, as well as raising the quality of projects, assets, and facilities, planning infrastructure, programs, initiatives and operational processes. It also endeavors to develop policies, systems, and methodologies, and create and qualify national cadres.

Qatar Embassy in Washington Warns Against Spam Scholarships Contacts

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United States of America and its affiliated attachés and offices have warned against contacts and messages related to scholarships and other pending or suspended procedures in the US.

The Embassy called for not providing any personal information or paying sums to whoever claiming to provide scholarship or certificate attestation services, and verifying the contacts via calling the Embassy in Washington at +12022741600 and the cultural attaché at +17039919499

Taif Follows up on Municipal Services Provided to Pilgrims


Taif, Taif’s mayor, Engineer Abdullah Al-Zaidi, inspected the municipal services provided to the pilgrims at miqat locations — pilgrimage entry points — in Taif.

Al-Zaidi was briefed on the development efforts supporting the Miqat Qarn Al-Manazel in the As Sayl al Kabir and the surrounding sites, in addition to several vital sites on the routes of pilgrims from Taif towards Makkah and the holy sites, especially the sites with high frequency of pilgrims.

Qatar Organizes Event on ‘Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-Being for All’ in Geneva

The State of Qatar organized in Geneva an event entitled ‘Aligning for Country Impact: 2024 progress report on the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-Being for All’, in collaboration with the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Ghana.

HE Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari, attended the event, which was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the World Health Assembly. Also present were HE Minister of Health of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye; Deputy Head of Unit Global Health, German Federal Ministry of Health, Bjorn Kummel, along with over 60 high-level participants in the World Health Assembly, including a number of heads of delegations and directors of health, development and humanitarian agencies.

During the event, HE Al Kuwari launched the executive summary of the Sport for Health report on promoting health and well-being through sporting events, which includes the main points of work in the Sport for Health program at the FIFA World Cup Qat
ar 2022.

Established in October 2021 between the State of Qatar, the World Health Organization and the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the Sport for Health partnership aimed to make the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 healthy and safe and a model for future major sporting events.

Addressing the event, HE Al Kuwari highlighted the importance of innovation and investing in opportunities arising from government initiatives in various fields to promote health, citing the State of Qatar’s Sport for Health program that used the World Cup to help protect and promote health locally and globally.

Her Excellency said the program offered opportunities with the mega sports event serving as a powerful channel for disseminating health messages to millions of people through media outlets and the social media. Yet, Her excellency highlighted some challenges including healthy food options to World Cup fans and measuring physical activity progress.

Meanwhile, Her Excellency stressed the need for countri
es and 13 participating agencies to join ranks and resources to accelerate progress in implementing the SDG3 related to Good Health and Well-Being.

This needs to devise new ways of working that focus on achieving tangible results with a real impact on public health, and to develop strategies that ensure that health is a top priority for all governments, Her Excellency added, noting that the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the close connection between health and the economy and society.

In this respect, the approach must go beyond healthcare to consider societal determinants responsible for the majority of the populations health and well-being, Her Excellency added.

Among the speakers was HE Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the organization responsible for coordinating amongst public and private entities to ensure that infrastructure and development projects were delivered in readiness for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. His Excellency said this report
details how Qatar and its stakeholders delivered a healthy and safe World Cup amid a global pandemic.

The report covers the positive local and global impacts of Qatar’s approach and will serve as a guide for countries to stimulate similar approaches to collaboration and innovation when organizing similar future tournaments, HE Al Thawadi said.

In his opening message to the executive summary of the Sport for Health report, HE WHO Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that health promotion, advocacy and security can be adopted during all mega sporting events, with the WHO committed to ensuring that sporting events continue to be powerful drivers of sustainable health.

During the event, a World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) team made introductory presentations on the global initiative of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, scheduled to be held Nov. 13-14 in Doha. The conference brings together leaders, pioneers, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs and he
althcare workers from around the world, with the aim of searching for innovative solutions to the major global health challenges.

Transport General Authority Provides over 5,000 Taxis to Pilgrims During Hajj Season 1445 AH


Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced the provision of more than 5,000 taxis to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season of 1445 AH, as part of its efforts to offer an ideal journey for pilgrims.

The authority highlighted that the licensed taxis are equipped with the latest technologies to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for pilgrims. These features include live trip tracking, e-meters, and multiple payment methods including e-payments, ensuring easy and secure access to the Holy Mosque and central areas.

TGA ensures that the authorized carriers provide a perfect and safe experience for passengers by activating the e-meter during the journey. If the driver fails to comply, the passenger is entitled to a free ride. Drivers must adhere to privacy and traffic regulations, polite and respectful conduct with passengers, and wear the official uniform while on duty.

The authority emphasized the importance of passengers maintaining public etiquette inside the taxis, such as not smoking or eati
ng, not exceeding the allowed number of seats, and not tampering with the equipment and stickers. Passengers must also fasten their seatbelts to ensure their safety during the journey.

IOF Commit Four New Massacres in Gaza Strip

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) murdered at least 36,479 Palestinians and injured at least 82,777 others since the beginning of its ongoing genocide on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.

Health authorities in Gaza reported in a statement today that the IOF committed four massacres against Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip, murdering 40 Palestinians and wounding 150 others, in the past 24 hours, explaining that many victims remain either under the rubble or on the streets, as the IOF has been preventing ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation’s extreme and unprecedented aggression on the Gaza Strip continues from all sides (air, land and sea), murdering and injuring tens of thousands of Palestinians, cutting all means to deliver supplies of food, water, medicine, and fuel to them, and causing a humanitarian catastrophe of countless martyrs, wounded and missing civilians, as well as a massive destruction of vital infrastructure and facilities i
n the Gaza Strip.
