Shura Council Chairman congratulates Jordan on Accession Day


Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, sent two congratulatory cables to Ahmad Al Safadi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Faisal Akef Al Fayez, the President of the Jordanian Senate, on His Majesty King Abdullah II’s accession to the throne anniversary.

Al Saleh commended the Bahraini-Jordanian relations and ongoing cooperation.

He sent a similar cable to Ramy Al Adwan, the Ambassador of Jordan to Bahrain.

Speaker congratulates Jordan on Accession Day


Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Council of Representatives Speaker, sent two congratulatory cables to Ahmad Al Safadi, Speaker of House of Representatives, and Faisal Akef Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate, on King Abdullah II’s accession to the throne anniversary.

Al Musallam praised the depth of bilateral relations, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.

He emphasised the Council of Representatives’ support and activate the role in parliamentary diplomacy, and its commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation in all forums and participations, in a way that serves the interests of the two countries.

The Speaker also sent a similar cable to Rami Saleh Wreikat Al Adwan, Jordanian Ambassador to Bahrain.

Transportation Ministry, Al Daaysi Holding sign contract


Manama: Bahrain Logistics Zone, which is regulated and managed by the Ports and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, signed a contract with Al Daaysi Holding to rent land of more than 8,400 square meters in the Bahrain Logistics Zone.

The land will be used to build and operate an integrated logistics centre that will specialise in logistics operations for fast-moving goods (FMCG), like refrigerated and frozen goods, and other related services.

The contract was signed by Bader Al Mahmood, Undersecretary of Ports and Maritime Affairs in the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, and Isa Al Daaysi, CEO of Al Daaysi Holding.

The undersecretary expressed his happiness to cooperate with Al Daaysi Holding, which is one of the leading Bahraini family companies supporting food security in the Kingdom.

He said that the ministry is looking forward to this partnership and what it will achieve in providing logistical solutions that meet the needs of local and global co
mmercial companies and how it’ll contribute to providing more qualitative opportunities for citizens and support the position of Bahrain as an important logistics centre in the region.

For his part, Al Daaysi said that Al Daaysi Holding believes in the importance of the logistics sector in driving economic growth in Bahrain, as this partnership constitutes a qualitative strategic step towards strengthening the company’s capabilities in this field.

He said this partnership will contribute to increasing re-exports from Bahrain to countries in Africa and the Middle East and raise the strategic stock of food security for the Kingdom, in a way that supports local consumption.

BACA, BNP Paribas sign agreement


Manama: The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) signed an agreement with BNP Paribas Bahrain to restore several houses around the Bahrain Fort in Manama.

The agreement was signed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, BACA President, and Amine Bel Hadj Soulami, CEO of BNP Paribas Middle East and Africa.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed affirmed BACA’s commitment to cooperate with the private sector, lauding the joint work with BNP Paribas.

He said that this cooperation and support reflects the depth of cultural relations between Bahrain and France, adding that the agreement will contribute to the project to restore the area surrounding the Bahrain Fort, which was registered on the World Heritage List in 2005, With a contribution from the French excavation teams headed by the French archaeologist Dr. Monique Kervran.

For his part, Soulami expressed his pleasure in cooperating with BACA to restore the historic building of the French excavation mission, reiterating BNP Paribas’s commitment to their
responsibility for social partnership and sustainability.

He also highlighted BNP Paribas’ care to initiatives that support cultural heritage.
