BDF Commander-in-Chief receives Foreign Minister

Manama, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting discussed means to enhance cooperation and coordination between BDF and the ministry.

Koury meets with members of the Libyan Association for Political Science.


Tripoli: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Acting Head of UNSMIL, Stephanie Koury, met yesterday in Benghazi with members of the Libyan Association for Political Science.

“They outlined the deep-rooted causes of Libya’s protracted crisis and the need for unified institutions, rule of law, transparency, and good governance to address citizens’ pressing needs,” UNSMIL said in a tweet.

Labour Minister delivers speech at 112th International Labour Conference

Geneva, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), delivered a speech at the 112th International Labour Conference, held in Switzerland.

The minister said, in his speech, that the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, created a solid foundation for just social principles that aim at enhancing social solidarity.

Minister Humaidan outlined Bahrain’s efforts in backing the establishment of trade union freedoms, social dialogue, the principle of tripartism and ensuring social protection for all workers. This is in addition to the implementation of the unemployment insurance system, the wage protection programme, and the efforts made to provide legal protection for the workforce through regulatory systems and devices.

The minister highlighted the positive role
of cooperation between the three production parties in Bahrain, which are the government, employers and workers.

This dynamic has contributed to consolidating the principles of social dialogue, revitalising programmes for qualifying and employing the national workforce and maintaining unemployment rates within safe borders, which creates quality career opportunities for job seekers, he said.

Minister Humaidan pointed to the national efforts to develop programmes that align educational outcomes with the needs of the labour market, taking into account the integrated social protection system, which has made Bahrain one of the advanced countries in terms of human development in several international reports and indicators.

HM King receives poet Mohammed Hadi Al Halwaji

Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received poet Mohammed Hadi Al Halwaji, who presented HM the King with a poem inscribed in a painting on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty’s Accession.

Poet Al Halwaji briefed HM the King on the artwork, which was created by artist Abbas Al Mousawi.

HM the King expressed his thanks for the efforts made in producing the artwork, which reflects the creativity of the poet and the artist, wishing them continued success.

Bahrain welcomes Slovenia’s official recognition of Palestine

Manama, The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the Republic of Slovenia’s official recognition of the State of Palestine.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom of Bahrain affirmed its support for the positive step towards completing international recognition of the legitimate historical rights of the Palestinian people to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

UAE President, Kuwaiti Amir hold phone call

Abu Dhabi, A telephone call was held today between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait.

His Highness the UAE President congratulated the HH the Amir of Kuwait on the appointment of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Mubarak Al Sabah as Crown Prince of Kuwait.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed wished Kuwait further prosperity and progress under the leadership of HH Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait expressed appreciation for HH the UAE President and wished the UAE further success and prosperity.
