Tunisia President appoints new ministers

Tunisia, His Excellency Kais Saied, President of the Republic of Tunisia, appointed Khaled Nouri as Minister of Interior, and Kamel Madouri, Minister of Social Affairs, in a partial cabinet reshuffle.

The new ministers were sworn in by HE the president, according to TAP News Agency.

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Turkish Foreign Minister

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met in Brussels today with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit’s meeting on developments in the Gaza Strip with foreign ministers and representatives of European countries.

The meeting reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them and discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, especially strengthening regional and international efforts to end the war on Gaza and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into all areas of the Strip in a sustainable and unhindered manner.

Qatar Chairs 43rd Meeting of Technical Committee on GCC Municipal Work

Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, chaired the 43rd preparatory meeting for the 40th meeting of the committee of senior municipal officials in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held in Doha today.

The meeting was chaired by Director of Doha Municipality’s technical affairs department Ibrahim Abdullah Al Harami, the head of the current session. It was attended by members of the coordination and follow-up committee in the field of municipal work in the GCC countries and the municipalities and housing department in GCC General Secretariat.

During the meeting, many topics on the agenda were discussed including the implementation of the decisions issued by the Supreme Council in previous sessions on the municipal field, strategic urban planning and the urban environment, and regarding the decisions of the Ministerial Council related to the Gulf Building Code, the development of legislation and mechanisms for municipal monitoring, conditions and mechanism
for classifying contractors, and joint GCC municipal action plan for 2024-2030.

It also followed up on the implementation of the previous decisions of the committee of ministers concerned with municipal affairs regarding ‘Gulf Municipal Week’, signing of agreements with specialized organizations that serve the municipal field, GCC municipal work conference, GCC Prize for Municipal Work, and promoting GCC municipal work in regional and international forums, and other topics.

The meeting concluded with a range of recommendations, which will be referred to the meeting of senior municipal officials in the GCC countries.

Minister of Public Health Meets Director General of GCC Health Council, WHO Official

HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari met separately with HE Director General of the GCC Health Council Suleiman Al Dakhil and WHO Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Governance Dr. Catharina Boehme, on the sidelines of Her Excellency’s participation in the 77th World Health Assembly.

During the two meetings, they discussed cooperation aspects between the State of Qatar and each of the GCC Health Council and the WHO. In addition, they discussed the most prominent topics to be discussed by the World Health Assembly, scheduled to kick off on Monday in Geneva, Switzerland, and runs until June 1.

Her Highness Meets American Autism Leadership Delegation

Doha: HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development met on Sunday with an American delegation made up of a number of leaders and experts in Autism.

During the meeting, they discussed the avenues of cooperation between the Qatar Foundation and the delegation’s respective organizations toward research and providing services for people with autism, particularly autistic children.

The delegation’s visit reaffirms the State of Qatar’s commitment and continuous efforts to improve the quality of care provided to people with autism.

QDA Holds Blissful Cultural Event for Visiting People, Children of Gaza

Doha: The Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), organized a recreational and cultural event for Qatar’s guests from the people and children of the Gaza Strip.

The QDA’s team and volunteers held a cultural and recreational program for 568 children supported by the Qatar Chess Association and Al Rami Sports Club, along with the participation of the Cage Sport specializes in martial arts.

The QDA’s program included many activities during morning and evening hours, such as raising awareness of diabetes and nutrition for 49 people with diabetes. QDA conducted a wide range of activities for all children during the event whose ages ranged between 3 and 17.

Executive Director of QDA, Dr. Abdulla Al Hamaq, said he was delighted to hold such an event as part of solidarity with the people and children of the Gaza enclave to alleviate part of their humanitarian suffering.

her added to the unwavering efforts at the state level in promoting the spirit of solidarity and interdependence for the sake of those children and giving them the opportunity for social inclusion and alleviating their psychological impacts.
