Al-Lafi meets in Tokyo with the President of the African-Japanese Parliamentary Friendship League.


Tokyo: At the conclusion of his visit to Japan, the representative of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdullah Al-Lafi, met in Tokyo with the President of the Japan-Africa Parliamentary Friendship League and a number of members of the Japanese House of Representatives.

The meeting, held in the presence of a member of the Libyan House of Representatives, Ayman Saif Al-Nasr, focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries and encouraging the return of economic activities and Japanese companies to Libya.

According to the PC, Al-Lafi also met with Akihiko Tanaka, head of the government agency JICA (the Japan International Cooperation Agency), which is concerned with coordinating efforts of the Japanese government to provide support in building peace in the world’s countries.

The meeting was attended by Mohamed Aoun, Minister of Oil and Gas, Abdullah Al-Hassi, and Al-Taher Al-Baour, National Reconciliation Advisor, charged with the duties of Minister of Foreign Affairs, who stressed Libya’s commitment
to supporting peace-building efforts in the country through the National Reconciliation Project.

Al-Lafi held a meeting with Atsushi Sonami, head of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, affiliated with the Japanese government, who in turn stressed the provision of technical and advisory support to Libya through the national reconciliation project to achieve security and stability for the Libyan peopl

Arab League welcomes Libya’s joining the legal team to prosecute the Israeli occupation.


Cairo: The Council of the League of Arab States, at the delegate level, welcomed Libya’s announcement to join the legal team to prosecute the Israeli occupation for its violations against Palestinian people in Gaza.

The Libyan delegation to the Arab League stated that the League Council held a meeting at the level of permanent delegates in its extraordinary session to discuss Israeli crimes and plans against the Palestinian people at the request of Palestine and with the support of all member states.

The delegation said on its Facebook page on Saturday that the permanent delegates welcomed Libya’s joining the legal team to prosecute the Israeli occupation.

Foreign Ministry receives a copy of the credentials of the new ambassadors to Libya.


Tripoli: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received a copy of the credentials of a number of countries’ ambassadors who were accredited to Libya by the President of the Presidential Council yesterday.

According to the ministry, the Director of the Ministry’s Protocol Department, Al-Taher Hussein, received copies of the credentials of the ambassadors, including the Ambassador of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Bbanho, the Ambassador of Korea, Jang Ji-hak, and the Ambassador of Austria, Barbara Grossi.

During the ceremony, bilateral relations between Libya and these countries and efforts to develop and strengthen them in all areas were reviewed in the presence of the Director of the Arab Affairs Department and the Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry.
