Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Abed discussed with German Parliament member Julian Balke bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them.

During the meeting held on Wednesday evening, in the presence of the Deputy German Ambassador to Libya, Sven Krosba, they discussed the possibility of establishing a Libyan-German training center to benefit from the pioneering German experience in the field of vocational training.

Al-Abed briefed the German parliament member on the latest developments in the labor market in Libya and the steps taken to organize it, noting that the Ministry is keen on continuous communication and work with its counterparts and various international organizations with the aim of enhancing the exchange of experiences and cooperation in the field of knowledge transfer.

US Senator Bernie Sanders: Netanyahu continues to violate international law.


US Senator Bernie Sanders, a member of the Senate, said that Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation state, continues to violate international law and does not listen to the calls of President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken regarding the protection of civilians in Gaza.

Sanders added, in statements to American media on Thursday, that he will submit a draft resolution to the Senate next week to hold the State Department accountable for what is happening in Gaza.

He pointed out that the US Secretary of State, must provide information that allows us to determine whether Israel is violating international law or not.

Sanders concluded his statement by saying: ‘We must know whether there have been human rights violations that occurred in Gaza using American military aid.’

Al-Dabaiba forms a permanent higher committee called (the Supreme Committee for National Reconnaissance).


The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, decided to form a permanent higher committee called the ‘Supreme Committee for National Reconnaissance,’ headed by the Director of the Government Communication Center.

The committee – according to the decision to form it – will undertake the task of national polling and inquiry, documenting data on files and issues of interest to the citizen and the government in all its forms, and committing to complete transparency, and allowing individuals to participate in the polls electronically via a government electronic platform.

The committee undertakes the tasks of proposing topics that will be subject to survey in the economic, social, scientific, legal, and other fields that will be subject to and following up on their implementation, collecting and preserving data, information and documents according to technical and scientific foundations and methods, as well as following up on data collection and analysis accurately, following up o
n all platforms concerned with publishing the results, and supervising the media and awareness campaign while carrying out the survey.

It will also prepare a guide for the national survey that includes the guiding principles, standards and methods regulating its work with the aim of coordinating between the relevant authorities, ensuring the accuracy of all data and information, in addition to setting dates for the timetables for conducting the survey.

Al-Agouri: Lifting fuel subsidies has impacts on the citizen’s livelihood.


The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation’s Performance Monitoring Committee in the House of Representatives, ‘Youssef Al-Agouri,’ expressed the committee’s great interest in following up on developments in the issue of lifting subsidies on fuel.

In a post published by the spokesman for the House of Representatives on his Facebook account, Al-Agouri stressed the necessity of listening to the different points of view on this matter, given the potential significant effects of this matter on the economic, social, and security levels, especially the standard of living of the Libyan citizen, who faces great difficulties due to the economic conditions that are affecting them.

Al-Agouri stressed the importance of addressing the issue of fuel subsidies, especially in light of the increasing financial allocations for the subsidy item from the state’s general budget, stressing that making the right decision should be in accordance with comprehensive and accurate scientific studies that take into account all relev
ant economic variables, as well as the political conditions and opportunities for implementation.

The head of the National Oil Corporation performance follow-up committee revealed that the committee, several months ago, commissioned an economic expert to conduct a comprehensive economic study on the potential effects of lifting subsidies, possible options, and the results of each option. The study relied on standard economic tools to measure the impact of this decision on macroeconomic variables to clarify the various results and potential expectations.

He added that the study has been completed and will be presented to public opinion through a symposium that will be organized soon in the House of Representatives, and that the committee’s approach to the issue is to open the door to dialogue and provide the opportunity to present all points of view on scientific foundations that take into account the various aspects, in order to reach the best possible solutions for the public interest and the standard of l
iving for the Libyan citizen.

Al-Dabaiba: People’s acceptance is a prerequisite for taking any step regarding lifting fuel subsidies.


Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, praised the community’s response to issues that affect their livelihood and lives, especially fuel smuggling, stressing the inevitability of the financial return being directly in the citizen’s pocket without an intermediary.

Al-Dabaiba said in a post on his official Facebook page that taking any step regarding lifting fuel subsidies requires the fulfillment of two basic conditions, the first of which is that people accept and support it, and the second condition is that its financial return be directly in the citizen’s pocket without an intermediary.

The Prime Minister reassured citizens that discussions with specialists on the issue of fuel subsidies and their alternatives are continuing. This is to reach a formula that guarantees the citizen’s right to this support, away from the interests of smugglers and their allies.

During his meeting with Qadirbouh: Takala demands the speedy preparation of the administrative oversight report for the year 2023 AD.


The President of the High Council of State, ‘Mohamed Takala,’ discussed today, Thursday, with the Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, ‘Abdallah Qadirbouh,’ the role and vision of the Authority regarding the Office for Combating Money Laundering and the Recovery of Stolen and Smuggled Funds, which was recently created therein.

During the meeting held between them at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli, ‘Takala’ affirmed his support for the Authority’s efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of oncology patients and providing treatment for them, and inventorying their data through a unified official system that will be a fixed reference for providing pharmaceutical types to them in sufficient quantities, calling for the speedy preparation of the oversight report on year 2023.

On the other hand, the President of the Council discussed with Qadirbouh his participation in the work of the tenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, held in
Atlanta, United States of America, during the period from 11-15 of last December, as well as the Commission’s joining of the Arab Network for Promoting Integrity and Combating Corruption.
