Ministry of Labor participates in the international strategic workshop in Italy.

Turin, The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation participated in the strategic workshop organized by the International Labor Organization in the project to integrate employment issues in the countries of the southern Mediterranean, in the city of “Turin” in Italy.

According to the Ministry of Labor on its official page, the advisor to the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Dr. Al-Sayeh Abu Darbalah, accompanied by a delegation from the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, negotiated with the director and members of the project to integrate issues related to the employment of job seekers, re-employment of employees, support for small and medium-sized companies, and strengthening the capabilities of entrepreneurs and productive families. Through training and qualification to manage these projects in accordance with commercial and industrial investment policies through the stages of preparation and implementation of the project.

The International Labor Organization supervised the organization of the workshop, with the participation of the countries of the southern Mediterranean, Libya, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Lebanon in its first phase, where industrial investment and trade policies are at the heart of economic transformation, strategies rich in job opportunities in the countries of the southern Mediterranean basin.

The project aims to develop these policies and their impact on economic transformation, diversification of exports and the labor market with a focus on job seekers, in addition to promoting small and medium enterprises in the region. It also provides an analysis of future trends affecting the labor market in the region.

The UN mission provides Mnifi with a list of seven human rights principles and recommendations.

Tripoli, The United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the Dutch ambassador to Libya presented to the President of the Presidential Council, “Mohammed Al-Mnifi,” a list of seven principles and recommendations for human rights, based on consultations with more than 500 Libyan men and women.

According to what the Mission announced on its Facebook page, this document, which was presented last Wednesday, is the culmination of a series of dialogues organized over the years 2022 and 2023 by the Working Group on International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, headed by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, and in cooperation with the Netherlands and Switzerland as members of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya emanating from the Berlin Process, noting that among the participants were representatives of civil society organizations, activists, youth, government actors, workers, groups representing victims, and human rights defenders, Lawyers, women’s groups, experts, academics, and media professionals.

According to Suki Nagra, Director of the Department of Human Rights, Transitional Justice and the Rule of Law at the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Libyan men and women considered during the dialogues “human rights violations, exclusion and marginalization, among the root causes that accompany almost all the drivers of conflict and instability in Libya.”

It added that Libyan women and men “are keen on their homeland, clinging to their civil and political rights, and want to improve their living conditions.”

A delegation from the Libyan army visiting Niger to coordinate mechanisms to combat cross-border crime.

Tripoli, A delegation from the Libyan army represented by the Ministry of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff carried out a work mission to the State of Niger, in coordination with the European Union Mission to Assist in Libyan Border Management “EUBAM”, to see closely the efforts made by the State of Niger and the European Union Mission to Assist in Capacity Building in Niger-Sahel (EuCAP) to combat cross-border crime and the activities of terrorist organizations.

During those meetings with representatives of the Nigerien authorities, the Libyan military delegation was briefed on the innovative mechanisms, existing actions, and the results achieved as a result of those efforts, both locally and regionally.

HRH Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal visits EDB

Manama, Chairman of Jordan-based Arab Thought Forum (ATF), His Royal Highness Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal, paid a visit today to the Economic Development Board (EDB) headquarters at Bahrain Bay.

On arrival, HRH Al-Hassan bin Talal was received by mainly Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and senior officials.

The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed HRH Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal and his accompanying delegation, stressing strong fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan thanks to the care and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out Bahrain’s unwavering keenness on boosting cooperation with Jordan to serve the interests of both countries.

HRH Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal was briefed through a presentation by the Minister of Finance and National Economy about the work mechanism of the Bahraini government. He was also briefed about the kingdom’s economic performance, the economic recovery plan and the measures taken to enhance economic development according to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

HRH Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal was also informed about the investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the role of EDB in promoting investments in vital sectors.

HH Shaikha Hessa bint Ali bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mosque opened

Manama, Under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s Advisor, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and in the presence of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the Mosque of Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Ali bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Wife of late His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, was inaugurated in Riffa, in the Southern Governorate, today.

Marking the occasion, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Fatees Al-Hajeri, gave a speech in which he lauded the great care accorded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to houses of worship given the active role of mosques in social growth and stability. He supplicated Allah Almighty to reward Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa for building the mosque.

It is worth noting that HH Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa Mosque has been built following the traditional Bahraini architecture with a capacity of 850 male worshippers. It also has another hall with a capacity of 150 female worshippers, a house for the Imam and prayer caller (Muazzen), public facilities and car park.

LMRA, NPRA, Northern Police Directorate conduct inspection campaign

Manama, The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted a joint inspection campaign in the Northern Governorate, in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior and the Governorate’s respective Police Directorate.

The campaign resulted in reporting violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws. The cases were referred for legal action.

LMRA stressed its commitment to report any violation through a continuous and intensive inspection plan, in coordination with the relevant government entities.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices by reporting violations via the electronic form on LMRA’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
