Al-Dbaiba holds broad meeting to follow up file of military retirees.

Tripoli, Head of the Government of National Unity, Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, held an expanded meeting in presence of Chairperson of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, Minister of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, and the Chief of the General Staff, Mohamed Al-Haddad, to follow up on organizing the file of military retirees.

Media office of the prime minister stated that the military prosecutor, Masoud Rahouma, the advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Al-Manea, and a number of departments of the Ministry of Defense, and the commanders of the military regions attended this meeting, which was devoted to following up on organizing the file of retirees of the military institution, and reviewing the procedures approved by the Ministry of Finance, and the Social Security Fund to settle the status of retirees.

During the meeting, the Logistics and Supply Department was assigned to present its general vision for the ration and supply item for its organization, it added.

German ambassador to Libya expresses full support for Bathily.

Tripoli, The German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, expressed his full support for the clear message of the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.

He said in a tweet that Libyan and international actors must provide full support to reach the elections as a way to give Libyans what they deserve in terms of legitimacy, stability, peace and prosperity of public institutions.

(Batili) presents the details of his initiative to hold elections for parties and civil society in Benghazi

Benghazi, Today, Sunday, the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdullah Batili, presented the details of his initiative regarding the mechanism for holding elections to representatives of political parties and civil society in Benghazi.

Batili said in tweets on his Twitter account, I confirmed that my initiative, regarding the establishment of a high-level team on setting up a mechanism for conducting elections, aims to expand the framework of consultations and involve these actors in charting a path leading to elections this year.

The UN envoy added that, during the meeting, he stressed the need to listen to political parties, civil society, women, and youth, to agree on an implementable roadmap for the elections.

Batili indicated that the meeting comes in the context of his consultations with parties and civil society organizations across Libya, listening to their concerns about the political impasse, their assessment of the challenges facing their country, and their proposals on how to address them to achieve stability and prosperity in Libya through holding inclusive elections.

The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament participates in the meeting of the Standing Committee on International Peace and Security of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Doha.

Benghazi, The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, “Abdul Hadi Al-Saghir,” participated in the meeting of the Permanent Committee for International Peace and Security of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which was held today as part of the work of the General Assembly (146) of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

According to what Abdullah Blehaq, a spokesman for the House of Representatives, said, the meeting approved the agenda, which included approval of the summary records held by the committee in the previous session. The draft resolution and the explanatory memorandum prepared by the participants on cyberattacks and new threats to global security were also presented.

During the meeting, the second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives made a number of observations on the draft resolution, noting the issuance by the Libyan House of Representatives of Law No. 5 of 2022 regarding combating cybercrime.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of the preparatory work for the upcoming general assemblies, and during the meeting the office of the International Peace and Security Committee was elected.
