Dbaiba asserts that any constitutional basis for the elections must be put to a popular referendum

Misurata, The head of the national unity government, Abdel Hamid al-Dbaiba, confirmed today, Saturday, that any constitutional basis for the elections must be put to a popular referendum.

Dbaiba said in a speech he gave while attending the second meeting of prisoners of war in 2011 in Misurata, “We will never accept the return of military rule,” noting that any soldier who wants to rule must take off his military uniform before entering the elections.

Dbaiba expressed his rejection of what he described as tailoring the election laws to the size of one person, stressing the need to agree on the constitution and for Libyans to vote on it and on the constitutional basis.

The prime minister added, that Libya has gone through a recovery phase for two years since we came to power, deploring the granting of humanitarian aid from international organizations, which he described as a defect in our right, saying that all of this was treated with the same budget that previous governments used to receive.

Al-Dbaiba called not to hear the confusion and what is rumored on social media platforms, stressing that there are enemies lurking in the Libyans and do not want Libya to start.

He said that there is a lot of good in Libya and everywhere there are gas and oil fountains, calling for an exit from the story of the hateful past because of which we differed for 10 years, adding that we should stop killing and be at peace with ourselves and with our neighbors.

Al-Dbaiba added, “We were in a deadly war and destruction, and today there are no wars, and the electricity problem was solved so that it would be the first winter without electricity interruption.” He confirmed that all cities launched a plan to restore life, challenging anyone who comes and says that his city was not covered by this plan.

Al-Dbaiba expressed his willingness to give up his position if the election laws are agreed upon, and on a constitutional basis for the Libyans to vote on.

The head of the national unity government affirmed that Libya is one and cannot be divided, and we will all die for it.
