Al-Lafi participates in Peace Building Forum, hosted by City of Sorman

Sorman– Member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, has participated in the ‘Towards Peacebuilding Forum’, which was hosted by the city of Sorman, in the presence of the mayors of the West Coast municipalities, and dignitaries of the western region and the mountain.

In a speech, he delivered on the occasion, member of the Presidential Council stressed the importance of the reconciliation project launched by the Presidential Council, which aims to achieve stability, development and prosperity.

He stressed that the reconciliation project is the property of all Libyans, under the auspices of the Presidential Council, and in cooperation with specialized experts, underlining the importance of the initiatives presented by those interested in reconciliation.

In his speech, Al-Lafi reviewed steps taken by the Presidential Council in this context, such as announcing PC strategic vision for reconciliation, which aims to achieve community ownership of the project.

He also alluded to the results of the preparatory forum that was held last month, and brought together inside the country, Libyans with their various components, to discuss issues that would contribute to establishing pillars of lasting peace in Libya.

He particularly referred to the dialogue sessions that contributed to producing results that pave the way for holding the inclusive conference, which will come out with legislative, executive and founding recommendations, and a national pact agreed upon by all Libyans.

Newly-elected Gharyan Municipal Council officially takes over its duties from previous council

Gharyan- The new Gharyan Municipal Council, headed by Nasser Barshan, took over its duties, Sunday, from the previous municipal council, headed by Youssef Badiri, at the municipality office.

The handover ceremony was attended by a member of the House of Representatives Salah Zubik and the committee supervising the handover and members of the Administrative Control Authority Gharyan and some of the Bureau’s employees in a friendly atmosphere dominated by the spirit of familiarity, brotherhood and love among the attendees.

On this occasion, Youssef Badiri and members of the former municipal council were honored by the current municipal council with certificates of thanks and appreciation in gratitude for their efforts they made throughout their term of office.

It is to be noted that the Central Committee for Local Council Elections announced on February 5 that the “For You” list won the Gharyan Municipal Council elections, with 1,029 votes.

The committee stated that 13 lists applied for the Gharyan Municipal Council election, with a participation rate of (67.6%), with 6,008 voters distributed among 35 centers.

Speaker of House of Representatives, accompanied by an Arab parliamentary delegation, visits Damascus, and meets President Al-Assad

Damascus–Speake of House of Representatives, Agila Saleh visited, Sunday, Damascus, accompanied by a number of heads of Arab parliaments and delegations participating in the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union conference, to affirm their support for Syria and stand by its people.

Aqila Saleh, met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, accompanied by Arab delegation, which included the President of the Union, Mohamed al-Halbousi, and heads of parliaments of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Palestine and Egypt, in addition to the heads of the delegations of the Sultanate of Oman and Lebanon, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The HoR media office said that ‘Saleh affirmed Libya’s support for Syria’s return to its Arab surroundings, and that Syria exercises its role at all levels in the regional and international arena’.

After receiving the heads of the Arab parliaments, the Syrian People’s Assembly held its session in the presence of the Speaker of the Libyan HoR, heads of Arab parliaments, and delegations of Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference.

Al-Dabaiba hails friends of Libya and UNSMIL for pushing for conducting elections

Tripoli- The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hameed Al-Dabaiba, hailed the efforts made by the Friends of Libya and the UNSMIL, for pushing for conducting of elections.

Al-Dabaiba said in a tweet, “I salute all the efforts made by the friends of Libya and the UN mission, in order to push for fair and just national elections, in line with our demand to end the transitional stages.”

Al-Dabaiba added in his tweet, “We will continue to provide services to all our people, maintain peace and finalize the elections’

Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives calls for the lifting of sanctions on Syria

Damascus- Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, affirmed the Libyan people’s support and solidarity with the Syrian brothers.

This came in a speech he delivered today, Sunday, at the session of the Syrian People’s Assembly held in Damascus, in the presence of the heads of parliaments and delegations of the Arab Parliamentary Union conference, according to what was published by the media center of the Speaker of the House of Representatives on his official Facebook page.

In his speech, “Saleh” demanded the lifting of sanctions against Syria, stressing Libya’s support for Syria, to return to the bosom of the Arab nations.

Signing a joint scientific cooperation agreement between the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies and the University of Grenoble – France

Tripoli- The Libyan Academy for Postgraduate Studies signed a joint cooperation agreement with the University of Grenoble – France in the academic and research fields.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Libyan Academy, by its president, Dr. Ramadan Al-Madani, and on behalf of the University of Grenoble, the Vice-President of the University, Dr. Abdulhamied Alsharief

The agreement aims to raise the efficiency of the outputs of the Libyan Academy, where the beginning was with the students of the French Language Department of the Libyan Academy and its branches, so that the University of “Grenoble” would host the distinguished students of the Academy for a semester, and their selection would be through online comparison exams by the University of “Grenoble”. .

The French University of “Grenoble” also granted distinguished students who completed their master’s studies this semester to the French Language Department at the Academy, 3-4 study seats for a doctorate, for graduates of the French Language Department at the Libyan Academy.

The Libyan Academy confirmed on its official page that this type of cooperation will be dropped on a number of scientific departments, especially medical sciences, as part of its endeavor to implement the strategic plan.
