Al-Taher Al-Sunni discusses with Antonio Guterres developments in the political situation in Libya

New York– Libya’s representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, discussed with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, “Antonio Guterres,” developments in the political situation in Libya.

Al-Sunni said in a tweet on “Twitter” that he stressed to the Secretary-General the need for the international community to actively support the aspirations of the Libyan people, to complete the electoral process as soon as possible and not to enter into new transitional stages.

Al-Sunni added, “We emphasized the importance of the Libyan leadership and ownership of the solution, away from all kinds of external interference.”

For his part, Guterres stressed his personal keenness to follow up on the situation, and his constant and direct communication with Special Envoy Abdullah Batili in order to support the political process and stability in Libya, according to the tweet.

Al-Manfi discusses with a number of heads of political parties developments in Libya

Tripoli | – The President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, discussed today, Thursday, with a number of heads of political parties, developments in the political situation in Libya.

The media office of the President of the Presidential Council stated that the meeting focused on supporting the national reconciliation project adopted by the Council and its endeavors to get out of the political deadlock and reach Libya to safety through free and fair elections, the results of which are acceptable to all parties.

The Minister of Justice is discussing with the Tunisian ambassador the activation of memorandums of understanding and agreements signed between the two sides

Tripoli- Minister of Justice, “Halima Ibrahim Abdel Rahman”, received this morning, Thursday, in her office, the Tunisian ambassador to Libya, “Al-Asaad Al-Ajili”.

The Ministry of Justice stated on its Facebook page that the meeting discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the judicial and legal fields and joint solidarity, especially with regard to activating memorandums of understanding and agreements signed regarding the conditions of persons arrested and sentenced to penalties between the two countries.

The two sides also touched on the mechanisms of dealing with uniting efforts for greater rapprochement, and striving forward within the framework of providing support and assistance and exchanging experiences in a way that contributes and enhances the interest of the two peoples.
