CGTN: Peng Liyuan: Music connects people of China and Thailand, deepens friendship

BEIJING, Nov. 20, 2022 Chinese and Thai people, though speaking different languages, can communicate with each other through music, as music knows no borders, said Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Peng made the remarks during a visit to Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music in Thailand on Saturday morning, accompanied by Naraporn Chan-o-cha, wife of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Upon her arrival, Peng was warmly welcomed by Naraporn, Thailand’s Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Anek Laothamatas, Chairman of Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Board of Council Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, and President of the institute Choowit Yurayong, among others.

Thanks to the efforts of Peng and Naraporn, the music institute signed an academic memorandum of understanding with China’s Nanjing University of the Arts in March 2019. Since then, the two schools have been deepening cooperation through personnel exchanges, joint research and training in the field of music.

Peng and Naraporn visited the showroom of the institute, listened carefully to its development history and international cooperation, and showed appreciation for the establishment and development of the institute’s cooperation with Nanjing University of the Arts.

They took photos together and watched a music performance jointly given by Chinese and Thai students from the two schools online and offline.

Peng applauded the lovely show by the students, who performed the classic songs of the two countries.

She said through the performance, she felt the deep friendship between the two countries, which is “as close as one family.”

Peng spoke highly of Princess Galyani’s initiative of establishing this arts institute to cultivate high-level professional music talents in Thailand, and lauded Naraporn’s efforts to promote the cooperation between the institute and Chinese colleges and universities.

Upon departure, Peng presented Chinese Guzheng (plucked zithers) and books and audio-visual products about Chinese culture and music as gifts to Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music. She also expressed hope that more youngsters in Thailand would learn about Chinese musical instruments and promote the cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Ministry of Youth invites Libyan youth to participate in the Excellence Award for Arab Youth 2023 on artificial intelligence

Tripoli- The Ministry of Youth has called on Libyan youth from all cities and regions to participate in the Excellence Award for Arab Youth 2023 on artificial intelligence, which is

an opportunity for distinguished Libyan youth to participate in the award to enhance the roles of Libyan youth at the Arab level.

The Ministry of Youth of the Government of National Unity stated on its website that participation is an opportunity for distinguished Libyan youth to innovate and achieve leadership in the fields of artificial intelligence and sustainable development, provided that participation is about artificial intelligence in all its fields and is characterized by a sustainable nature.

The Ministry also called on young people wishing to participate to fill out the electronic form with the following link, attached to a detailed PDF file on the steps of implementing the project, and a video clip of all stages of the project.

Minister of Economy and Trade discusses mechanism of implementing minutes of the signed meeting with Minister of Trade and Export Development of the Tunisian Government

Tripoli -GNU Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Haweij, discussed during his meeting with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Organizations and International Cooperation, Omar Al-Kutti, mechanism for implementing the minutes of the meeting, which was signed during the visit of Tunisian ministerial delegation to Libya.

The meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Foreign Trade and International Cooperation Department at the Ministry, reviewed the executive program for the meeting’s items with the Tunisian side, which aims to raise level of trade cooperation ,provides the necessary facilities for businessmen and investors, and facilitate the movement of travelers through the ports, in coordination with competent authorities in both countries.

It ‘s noteworthy that the minutes of the meeting include the formation of a joint work team that undertakes a study to establish a joint border economic zone “Ras Jedir”, as well as facilitating the transactions of Libyan businessmen, represented in administrative and financial procedures, and the free flow of goods between the two countries with lifting of all bans related to that, in addition to forming a Joint work team to set a vision for food and drug security in the two countries, and work to invite Libyan and Tunisian businessmen to participate and invest in infrastructure projects in the two countries, and to confirm the implementation of the mutual recognition agreement of the certificates of conformity and quality, and to facilitate the entry procedures for goods of foreign origin supplied to Libya through Tunisian ports, and the conclusion of a twinning agreement between the Libyan Competition Council and its Tunisian counterpart.

Abu Dabous wins the first international medal for Libya in the Siers A Karate Championship

Jakarta_ International champion Muhammad Abu Dabous has won the first global necklace in the Siers A Jakarta World Karate League 2022, which was held in Indonesia with a weight scale of under 75 kg.

The head of the Libyan Karate Federation, Eng. Jamal Al-Raedh, said in a press statement: This championship is one of the strongest in the world championships.

‘With these valuable results achieved by the Libyan Karate Federation at the local, Arab and international levels, the federation adds great sporting successes to Libya’s credit, and raises the flag of Libya in those countries in which the federation participated with superior results, Al-Raedh added.

GNU Ministry of Justice confirms Lockerbie file had been completely closed politically and legally and cannot be raised again or reconsidered

Tripoli, -The Ministry of Justice of the Government of National Unity announced its rejection to reopen or raise the Lockerbie case file.

In a statement it posted to its SMS page, the Ministry said it followed what has been circulated on social media regarding the reopening of the Lockerbie case file, stressing that this issue cannot be raised again and cannot be reconsidered.

The ministry stressed that the Lockerbie case has been completely closed both politically and legally, according to the text of the agreement between the Libyan state and the United States of America in 2008, which was strengthened by the presidential order signed by US President George W. Bush No. 13477 issued on October 31, 2008.
