The weekly video podcast features the unique stories of the FAST startup accelerator’s graduates – young entrepreneurs, innovators, and founders who are strengthening Africa’s digital ecosystem from the ground up.

Revolutionizing industry across the continent with AgriTech, EduTech, HealthTech and FinTech, the twelve startup founders featured in the FAST Founder Series podcast are graduates of the first FAST startup accelerator. They were chosen from more than 800 applicants representing 25 countries in Africa. The twelve entrepreneurs represent six countries and nine industries, and include two women founders. Each startup founder is tackling challenges that address the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including equality, education, and poverty reduction.

With a new episode released each week on Wednesdays, the series will delve into key topics for startup founders, including job creation, business formation, cloud computing and AI, and venture capital. Podcast viewers will learn how these individual entrepreneurs are leveraging technology to scale sustainable operations across Africa and around the world.

FAST accelerator participants study corporate governance, technology integration, funding strategies and community building opportunities designed to help them scale rapidly and sustainably. Microsoft engineers serve as business mentors, working one-on-one with accelerator participants. The participants also gain access to innovative technology tools and services, including Fast Portal, SME Marketplaces, Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub and Microsoft Azure.

Bachagha: My participation in British Parliament session to strengthen relations with key international allies

Tripoli- The Prime Minister-designate of the House of Representatives, Fathi Bashagha, has attributed his participation in the British Parliament session to strengthen relations with the main international allies. Bashagha posted a tweet on his “Twitter account”, saying that “strengthening relations with the main international allies is among the most important points raised by the roadmap towards recovery that it set for the advancement of Libya, and for this reason I met yesterday with the British Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs.”

He added: “The UK and Libya have fought side by side against ISIS in Libya, and I have met the British Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee to review my roadmap to recovery and highlight our sacrifices for security.”

Pashagha gave a speech during his participation in the British Foreign Affairs Committee session last Tuesday, entitled “Libya’s security, foreign policy and the road map towards recovery.” In his speech, the Prime Minister-designate of the House of Representatives expressed his aspiration for Britain to support his government and to play a “distinguished role” in this regard and to work with it to build “stronger” relations between Libya and the United Kingdom, warning of the danger of the current situation in Libya on Europe. .

Ben Gddara: One of the priorities of the management of the Corporation is activation of governance systems and commitment to implementation of Libyan oil law

Tripoli-The newly-appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NPC) Farhat Bin Gddara asserted that one of the priorities of the Corporation’s management will be the activation of governance systems and commitment to the implementation of the Libyan oil law, which defines relations with international institutions.

“We will work with the highest standards of transparency by disclosing revenues, the way they are accumulated, and what has been spent within the institution and its companies, and the employees in the sector, and I assure oil workers that the planned increase will be implemented within two months,” Ben Gddara said in a press conference on Thursday after taking office as chairman of the board of directors.

He stressed the need for Libya to return to its export levels of oil and gas and that the extraordinary budget of the sector in order to achieve its desired goals, and that international and local parties have agreed that the institution should be run by a personality that does not have political or ideological affiliation, to manage it in a neutral and professional manner.”

Ben Gddara reassured foreign partners to that the board would adhere to all commitments and agreements concluded and would seek with government supervision to develop them.

Regarding claims of his relationship with a particular country, Ben Gddara said regarding my relationship with any country, this is nonsense and its aimed to create confusion, I travel to every place in Libya without problems, and I am not affiliated with any party, I am a patriotic and independent man, in my opinion and I do not want to bid on anyone.”

He pledged not to enter the corporation into political wrangling, referring to a contact with officials of the U.S. Embassy to Libya, who expressed fear of using oil funds to support one party at another’s expense, continuing that he made it clear to them, that he had consulted with parties of the French government in the same context, as well as the Unity Government held talks with other international parties.

US Ambassador on developments taking place at the National Oil Corporation, asks, will Libyan leaders realize that these developments demonstrate urgent need for political will to reach a compromise, and prepare for reconciliation and elections?

Tripoli-U.S Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland said that “the decision to change the board of directors of the National Oil Corporation may be challenged in court, “but the issue must not develop into an armed confrontation.”

Norland said Thursday in a series of tweets posted by the U.S. Embassy on its Twitter account, that he is following “with great concern” developments surrounding the institution, “which are vital to Libya’s stability and prosperity,” adding that it “remained politically independent and working technically efficiently under the leadership of Mustafa Sun’Allah.

The U.S. Ambassador stressed that Libya’s main policy should focus on “restoring oil and gas production, in order to address pressing issues affecting the lives of every Libyan, especially electricity shortages, and establishing a Libyan mechanism to manage and control revenues transparently.”
