Foreign Ministry is discussing with a delegation from Russia arrangements for opening of the Russian Embassy in Tripoli

Tripoli-Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Consular Affairs Murad Ahmeima discussed with a delegation from the Russian Foreign Ministry arrangements for the reopening of the Russian Embassy in Tripoli.

The head of the delegation Haidar Aghanid stressed the importance of the embassy’s presence in Tripoli; to support and develop historical relations between the two countries, and to provide services to citizens wishing to visit Russia.

The head of the Russian delegation also expressed his Government’s keenness to support the bonds of friendship between the two peoples. The Russian delegation included the Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Libya, Djashmed Poltayev, and the second secretary of the Russian Embassy in Libya, Sergei Khabarov.

The commander of the Counter-Terrorism Force briefs the Commander in Chief on the work of the force in dealing with terrorism and organized crime

Tripoli-President of Presidential Council, the Commander in Chief of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al Mnefi met in Tripoli on Wednesday with Mohammed Al-Zain Commander of the anti-terrorism force.

The Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Force of the Army gave a full briefing on the force’s work during the past period in addressing terrorism and organized crime.

The President of the Council praised the efforts of the anti-terrorism force and other security agencies in securing the lives of citizens and preserving public and private property.

Italy’s Eni’s director says firm determined to continue exploratory activities in Libya

Tripoli-The Director General of Italy’s oil and gas giant Eni, Antonio Bolsari, confirmed that the company is determined to continue its exploration and development activities in Libya, opening up new prospects for investment, capacity-building and training.

This came during his meeting in Tripoli on Wednesday, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation Mustafa Sun’Allah, in the presence of Bashir Qureia, advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the corporation, Director General of legal affairs, Khalafallah Ibrahim, and the Director of the Maintenance and Projects Department Najmi Karim.

The website of the National Oil Corporation outlined the most prominent topics discussed during this meeting: follow-up the progress of the business at the various sites of the company Mellita Oil and Gas “Operator”, and ways to develop and strengthen joint cooperation to invest in the discovered but not developed oil and gas fields to achieve the target, which is to increase production rates to support the national economy.

At the meeting, Sun’Allah confirmed that the National Oil Corporation will continue to cooperate with its strategic partner Eni to achieve the corporation’s plans and future aspirations for the development of the Libyan oil sector, highlighting the strong historical relations that bind the National Oil Corporation and Eni over many years.

Al Taher Al-Sunni discusses with his U.S. counterpart the challenges facing Libya’s political process

New York-Libya’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Al Taher Al-Sunni, during a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Greenfield, reviewed the current situation and the challenges facing the political process in Libya.

“The importance of America’s role in supporting peaceful solutions to the crisis was emphasized to avoid any military escalation or armed confrontations,” Al-Sunni said in a tweet.

“We discussed the international efforts and the various dialogues taking place and the importance of leading to a national consensus to complete the general elections as soon as possible,” he said.

The two sides also addressed “the impact of the current international crisis on Libya and the region, and how to support security and economic stability, not to transfer the conflict to Libya and to end all kinds of foreign interventions.”

Fire breaks out at a tire factory in Tajoura

Tripoli-Firefighters were able to control a fire at a piston carton store inside the tire factory in Tajoura on Wednesday.

The National Safety Board said it had rushed in fire engines from its departments in Tajoura, Tripoli, Souk Al-Gomoa and Qasr Bin GhSHIR, and Qasr bin Ghashir, which managed to extinguish the fire, the cause of which was not mentioned.
