General Electricity Company signs an agreement with French Total Energy to build a solar power plant

Tripoli-The General Electricity Company on Tuesday signed an agreement with France’s Total Energy to build a 500-megawatt solar power plant in the Al Sadada area.

The agreement, according to the company’s SMS page, is part of a joint collaboration with the Renewable Energies Authority to implement the strategic plan to integrate the electricity generated from renewable energy sources to increase the electricity capacity of the Libyan network.

The head of the national unity government meets a number of dignitaries and wise men of the Misurata municipality

Tripoli– The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, “Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba” met this evening, Wednesday, with a number of dignitaries and wise men of the city of Misurata, in the presence of a number of members of the Municipal Council, and officials of some sectors in the municipality.

During the meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, many words were delivered during which the attendees affirmed their support for the national unity government and appreciated its efforts in supporting the local administration.

The attendees expressed their desire for stability and peace, the preservation of the peaceful political path, and the return of honesty to the people through free and fair elections.

They also stressed the need for the national unity government to continue to provide its services to all Libyans and to work seriously for the success of the important national elections and the selection of an elected legislative and executive authority.

Resumption of studies at faculties of University of Tripoli, and University Council creates Faculty of Physiotherapy

Tripoli- Study resumed, Wednesday, at the faculties of University of Tripoli.

The Council of the University of Tripoli had decided to resume the study as of, Wednesday, 18th of May.

The committee charged with the task and follow-up of the procedures for establishing the College of Physiotherapy at the university held a meeting, during which it followed up on the steps it had set to create the college and its importance in graduating qualified young people in this field.

The committee, headed by Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Baroni and the membership of both Prof. Abdul Razzaq Al Uzi and Hisham Nashnoush and the pharmacologist Al-Malayani with the participation of the General Administration of Physiotherapy Specialist Yahya Al-Kamali.

The committee discussed the preparation of the college’s bylaws, curricula, the handbook and the college’s guide, in addition to all matters related to activating the college and starting to exercise its functions to receive new students from the introductory semester.

GNU Minister of Oil discusses plans to establish the African Bank of Energy in Luanda

Tripoli-GNU Minister of Oil and Gas Mohamed Aoun, and a member of the Executive Council of the Organization of African Petroleum Producing States (APPO), discussed on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Organization plans and mechanisms for establishment of the African Energy Bank in the manner of the Energy Investment Corporation of Africa.

For his part, “Aoun” called for the establishment of the African Energy Bank as soon as possible with the aim of implementing projects to produce renewable energies through these revenues, pointing out that international banks will put restrictions on the implementation of financing of oil projects, which will deprive the African continent of benefiting from the oil riches that still exist in the African continent.

The African Energy Investment Foundation was founded by the of African Petroleum Producing Organization (APPO), with the aim of supporting Africa’s oil industry and benefiting from it in the development of African member countries and supporting transformation plans for renewable energy production.

Relative consensus, so far, between two consultation committees on a constitutional rule for election

Cairo- According to information obtained from some members of the consultation committees formed by the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State in response to the proposal of the UN Secretary-General’s Advisor, Stephanie Williams, on the drafting of a constitutional rule under which parliamentary and presidential elections will be held to end the Libyan crisis, obtained information refer to relative consensus among the members of the two committees on the items discussed in the sessions of the past days.

Today’s session is scheduled to resume at 3 p.m. to discuss the local government clause in the constitutional document that will organize the elections, and official meetings continue on schedule prepared by the UN Adviser.

French Foreign Ministry calls for comprehensive dialogue in Libya for conducting presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible

Paris-The French Foreign Ministry on Wednesday called on Libyan actors to begin a genuine dialogue in order to reach a sustainable political solution that also requires transparent and impartial presidential and legislative elections across the country as soon as possible, to meet Libyan aspirations.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry appealed to all Libyan actors to refrain from any violence and abide by the ceasefire agreement, following Tuesday’s clashes in Tripoli.
