Al-Sayeh and the Italian ambassador to Libya discuss ways to support the international community for the democratic process in Libya

Tripoli- Head of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, discussed with the Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino, the latest developments in the political situation and ways to support the international community for the democratic process in Libya.

During the meeting, which was held today, Monday at the UNHCR headquarters in Tripoli, Giuseppe offered his condolences to the UNHCR Council for the martyrs who were victims of the terrorist bombing that hit the UNHCR building on May 2, 2018, recalling this tragic incident whose fourth anniversary passed a few days ago.

At the same time, he called on the Italian ambassador to overcome all bottlenecks in order to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people, which were translated by the statistics of voters and candidates, and the great response shown by all national factions towards the elections.

Giuseppe expressed his country’s readiness to provide technical and advisory support to raise the commission’s readiness, in case the political parties agree to conduct an electoral process in the coming period. At the same time, he appreciated the efforts of the Commission and its professionalism in dealing with the previous electoral stages.

Major General “Mazen” discusses with a delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Interior the security cooperation between the two countries

Tripoli- The Minister of Interior, Major General Khaled Mazen, discussed today, Monday, with a delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Interior, security cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, which was held at the ministry’s office in Tripoli, Mazen stressed that cooperation with the Turkish side in the field of security issues is a priority of the Ministry of Interior, praising the depth of Libyan-Turkish relations in various fields.

During the meeting, it was decided to set a timetable for the Turkish delegation’s visit to the Passports, Nationality, Foreigners Affairs, Civil Status, Criminal Investigations, and the General Administration of Security Operations.

The meeting was attended by the head of the Passports, Nationality and Foreigners Affairs and his deputy, the head of the Criminal Investigation Agency, the head of the Civil Status Department, the director of the General Department of Traffic and Licensing, the head of the Information and Documentation Center, the director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the board of directors of the Security Goods Company, members of the National Project Management Committee for the technical development of the ministry institutions and the official spokesperson Ministry of the Interior.
