Cairo-Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit on Monday discussed with UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams the latest recent developments in the Libyan file.

The Secretary-General listened to what the UN adviser had to say on political developments on the ground in Libya, including the current meetings of the joint committee of the House of Representatives and the High Council of state, on the constitutional process, which is convening in Cairo since last Wednesday, under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya,” the Middle East News Agency quoted an official source in the Arab League General Secretariat as saying.

The National Oil Corporation announced today, Monday, the state of force majeure on the Sharara oil field

Tripoli-The National Oil Corporation announced today, Monday, the state of force majeure on the Sharara oil field.

On its website, the Corporation warned against these practices, declaring that it was obliged to declare a state of force majeure on the El Sharara oil field, until further notice.

It is noteworthy that Sharara oil field’s crude oil is the main supplier of the Zawia refinery, which in turn feeds the local market with fuels.

Deadline for filing candidacy for Libya’s Youth Parliament closes

Tripoli-GNU Ministry of Youth announced Monday closing of deadline for running for the Libyan Youth Parliament, the Ministry said on its website that the final lists of candidates will be announced in the next few days and the electoral process of the Libyan Youth Parliament is part of the initiative for democratic learning for young people.

The Ministry of Youth has opened the door to running for Libya’s Youth Parliament in its first edition, emulating the power of legislation to include 200 young men and women from different regions and cities of Libya.

Those who chose to run will have to be of 17-20 years of age, at the time of candidacy, not to be a member of the high election committee organizing the elections and to abide by the rules set by the Committee.

Head of Government of National Unity arrives in Algeria on official visit

Algiers-The Head of the Government of National Unity ,Abdul Hamid Al Dabaiba, arrived in Algiers on Monday on an official visit, accompanied by a number of ministers, the Chief of General Staff, the Head of the General Intelligence Service and the Head of the Internal Security Service.

The Government Communication Office said the visit was part of the consultations between the two countries on a number of issues of common concern, as well as development of cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries.

Cairo– The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, “Ahmed Aboul Gheit,” reiterated the League’s support for international efforts and for every effort aimed at converging views between Libyans.

An official source in the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States stated, on Monday, that the Secretary-General affirmed, during his meeting with the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libya, Stephanie Williams, the League’s support for drawing the features of the desired electoral process and laying its legal foundations, which the Libyans aspire to.
