Tripoli– The designated Minister of Planning discussed with the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya “Georgette Gagnon” ways to develop cooperation with the organization on the United Nations framework for cooperation in the field of sustainable development.

The minister confirmed that the ministry prepared the report of the first voluntary national review for Libya 2020 on the sustainable development goals 2030 prepared by the committee formed by the Ministry of Planning.

During the meeting, it was agreed to schedule a meeting at the technical level of the Ministry with the United Nations Sustainable Development Team represented by the Technical Cooperation Office.

Prosecutors are investigating import of shipment of 300 tons of sugar unfit for consumption

Misrata – The Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday opened an investigation into a shipment of 300 tons of sugar unsuitable for human consumption imported through the port of Misrata in February.

The Attorney General’s Office said that the Anti-Corruption Crimes Act of the West Misrata Court of First Instance was investigating the circumstances surrounding completion of the procedures for the supply of the shipment, which do not meet the requirements of quality and the validity for human consumption.

The office explained that investigations proved that a crime of providing false documents was committed and deliberately concealed the decision rejecting the shipment issued by the Tunisian authorities as a result of the lack of quality that allows human consumption of the substance. The public prosecutor ordered that the ship’s captain and assistant be remanded in custody pending further investigation.

Pro-Stability Body: What happened in Al-Sarim Street is minor dispute which has been controlled

Tripoli- The Stability Support Service has announced control of the dispute in the Sarim Street area of Tripoli, thanks to the intervention of the elders and wise men.

‘Some media platforms have carried out exaggerated reports about the incident, the Service said in a statement on its Facebook page, indicating that’ it was nothing more than a minor disagreement between the brothers.”

It called on the media organs to verify their sources before publishing and to stay away from sowing the seeds of strife among brothers.

Libyan news agency correspondent noted the closure of some streets in the vicinity of the Al-Sarim Street area in the capital Tripoli, after sounds gunfire were heard in the area which nobody claimed responsibility for it.

The start of the return of Egyptian workers to Libya after the Eid al-Fitr holiday

Cairo- The Minister of Manpower in the Egyptian government, “Mohamed Saafan”, held an open meeting with representatives of the alliance of companies “Orascom Construction” and “Hassan Allam Construction”, “the pioneers of modern engineering”, as part of the ministry’s endeavor to facilitate Ways to return Egyptian workers to participate in the reconstruction of Libya.

And the ministry’s page on Saafan’s Facebook Page stated (that Saafan affirmed the keenness of the Egyptian government and the ministry, in coordination and cooperation with the Libyan side, on Egyptian workers abroad and at home, to overcome all difficulties and problems before and after traveling, especially in Libya to work on reconstruction projects.

And that the ministry is very keen on the interests of the Egyptian companies operating within the Libyan state, as Egyptian entities, supporting them, and it also seeks to facilitate its work in coordination and cooperation with the Libyan side, to study the labor market, specializations and needs required of trained and qualified workers to work in all projects concluded between the alliance of companies and the side Libyan in accordance with the laws, rules and conditions of work within the Libyan state).

Orascom Operations Director Nabil Shenouda said that work is currently underway on the financial allocations between the two parties to start the travel of labor after the end of the month of Ramadan, entirely within the projects that will be implemented, and there are a group of projects that are still under study, starting from the western side to eastern and southern Libya.

The head of the ambulance and emergency department at the Libyan Red Crescent gets first place in the training course for trainers in Beirut

Tripoli-The General Secretariat of the Libyan Red Crescent participated in the course held in Beirut at the level of the Middle East and North Africa region for the members of the Red Crescent under the supervision of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and in cooperation with the Reference Center for First Aid.

The Head of the Emergency and Ambulance Department, “Fathi Ghorar”, was ranked first in this course for preparing “trainers of trainers” at the level of the Middle East and North Africa region under the supervision of the International Federation.

Nasser Al-Darsi, Director of the Department of Health Programs, and Fathi Ghorar, Head of the Ambulance and Emergency Department, were able to successfully pass the course to become certified trainers by the Reference Center for First Aid and the International Federation.
