UN: Number of needy people in Libya declined, and situation in Tripoli calm.

New York-The United Nations has announced a drop in the number of people in need in Libya to 800,000 this year, from 1.3 million in 2021, and said the number of displaced persons has steadily declined.

UN secretary-general spokesman Stéphane Dujarric unveiled, in a press conference on Wednesday, extension of the humanitarian response plan in Libya, issued last year, until the end of May, and explained that the plan requires raising $75.3 million to help 211 thousand people, pointing out that a contingency plan is being drawn up in the event of a deterioration of the security situation.

“Our message to them is to work for Libya’s stability and to refrain from any escalatory action” he said.
